CORRECTION- I"m not making a window box- just a planter:)

San Angelo, TX(Zone 7b)

I feel stupid. In my mind I was making a windowbox, but all it is is a 18" long rectangular planter that I'm putting in my window.
Can I still mix wax begonia and madagascar periwinkle (vinca)?
Thanks

I don't remember where your other thread was where I mentioned that the begonias at least might not like your afternoon TX sun...for that it doesn't matter whether they're in a windowbox or a planter or in the ground, I think they'd still prefer shade in the hottest part of the day. I don't know as much about the vinca so I don't know if it'll like your TX sun or not, but I think it would also do fine if you gave it a bit of shade in the afternoon.

If you know what direction this planter faces, you'll get better answers.
Your wax begonias should do fine...they grow them in blazing sun in Palm Springs here, so don't be put off thinking they won't grow for you.

That's good to know, many things that are labeled sun or part shade tend to need some afternoon shade in hot climates, good to know that's not the case this time.

I guess I'll see what happens. I'm putting them in different spots and I'll let you know what comes of them.:))
