Yay, Tab!!! I love Bleeding heart...I had a gigantic one about 20 years and then had some work done and they ran over it repeatedly...never cam eback so I had to start over with a little one. Nice daffodil, too....a show flower, for sure!
G6, Looks like spring, and my kind of colors, too!
Suzy
Signs of spring- What do you have blooming?
I just want my silly daffs to bloom! Feels like I've been waiting so long. But I can see the buds, now! Yours look beautiful, garden6!
tabasco - Bleeding hearts! My dicentra is just starting to come out of the ground and isn't more than a couple inches high at the moment. What a difference a zone makes. hehe
Illoquin - How sad about your 20 year old bleeding heart. We had to have a new septic put in last year and we lost an ancient willow tree in our backyard as well as a bunch of lovely old lilacs we inherited when we moved here. Nothing says spring to me like lilacs, and I'm going to miss them. I feel your pain!
Oh, Tab, I didn't take one single picture, and the show is already torn down.
Young Love is a garden flower, so you're right, not a show flower. But it's pretty in a vase and with the large cup, the pink shows up from a longer distance. I was having trouble finding pictures of traditional flowers with a pink cup.
This is a good group of reverse bi colors that haven't reversed yet. I took this photo yesterday, but today the cups are all white.
I posted more photos of pink cupped daffodils inthe Bulb forum:

corgimom--beautiful display of blues to magentas! I don't know which one I like best!
And I love that 'Liberation', Illoquin, even though 'not a great flower'. I guess I haven't developed my 'eye' for a good daff yet! I keep trying, though!
I will check out the bulbs thread for more of your daff pics. I had the landscaper man over yesterday to replace my drought killed bushes and asked him for a quote to remove some trees for more sunshine. Maybe then I can plant some 'show worthy' daffs! It would be fun to show daffs.
My DH said he saw a nice article about Bill Lee's daff garden either in the Cincinnati Enquirer or the Cincinnati Magazine! He must have read the article since he knew all about it. Husbands are so cute.
Hope your daff show was a success.
Great day for pulling a few weeds! Have fun. t.
Found this daffodils today and it is fantastic, huge and I do not know where it came from. I searched all my daffodil and this was the only one. Must of been miss directed at the daffodil farm..into my bag of bulbs.
So glad however, now I just need to figure out its name so I can buy more. It reminds me a dahlia...bloom is 4" many layers of pedals...
Also very tall stem..
Oh, so lovely! Y'all's new blooms are heavenly! Spring has come and gone here and we're beginning to have those days where all you do is step out the door and your upper lip is covered with sweat. Sigh. The daffodils, wisteria, and azaleas have come and gone. BUT there are tomatoes ripening on the vine and the cucumbers are starting to put out blossoms. Just hope the heat doesn't kill them all!
I would just love to be able to put my tomatoe plants out in the garden. Still to cold here! :(
Oh, Geez, that rose is gorgeous, CP!!!!
Tab, Your place looks so spick and span...I don't think mine has ever looked worse. With the late spring, I am just now cleaning up. I planted a bunch of seedlings and I had no compost ready to put in the holes with them. I cannot remember a spring where I haven't had compost by the end of April.
Suzy
Thanks, Illoquin-- well, we have been working hard this week to get the garden in shape. We are having friends over Saturday and tonight we are having some DGers over for dinner who are in for the Cincinnati Flower Show.
This is 'high season' for our front garden--bulbs, blooming trees, pansies, iris blooming (little ones) so I would like it to look decent. After this week it will be one ugly mess of spent daffodils and so on. Of course, I crop out all the 'nasties' in the photos.
This is the front bed where the peony and white camassia will be blooming. Now it's just bleeding hearts, clematis, and a few daffs...cleaned this up yesterday....
Absolutely beautiful, Tabasco.
Beautiful Tabasco. I always have friends stop by as many don't have anything but gravel yards. I usually do more cleanup. This year I am being very lax and it still looks nice, but not as "cleaned up" as I usually have it. Thanks Suzy, I do love that rose and it was just serendipity that I put it by the bench.
That's just gorgeous, Tabasco! Makes me envious of your pretty yard. I live in a renovated 100 year old farmhouse (which I love), but the yard just hasn't caught up to the urban standards of the rest of the neighborhood. Slowly but surely! ;)
I have a bleeding heart just starting bloom, and most of my daffodils are open. One of my rhododendrons is in bloom and some violets. I need more early bloomers in my yard.
Beehive, what are those anemone's botanical names? I like your pics so much that now I want to find some :)
I purchased two varities this season from Nature Hills.
I believe the ones in the photos are Anemone- De Caen and the others I have are St. Bridget.

They are very beautiful...need to get some more myself for the backyard!
Great little flower and so easy...
They are beautiful and really look unreal. Do they need lots of water?
