I can't wait till my garden looks like this again!

You are COOL Soferdig! Love your humor!
Thank you Laurie! It's easy to take the memory card out of your camera. It should be in the same place as you battery/ies, just pop it out and there should be small slots in your PC below where you put discs in, just put it in the slot that it fits in and follow the directions on the screen. I hope I explained it correctly.

Sofer, your too cool, gotta love ya.

Gardener, you said it right only if Laurie's puter has the memory card slots on her puter. I have two towers and a laptop. one tower has the slots the other doesn't, I bought a hub and a card reader for the other two to work off the usb port.
This is what you need to find the small slot to the left of the usb cord. hope it helps.

tilly, thanks for the backup. I couldn't remember the word "tower". Old age creeping up on me I guess!!! LOL I'm so getting tired of mental blocks (brain f--ts)!^_^

Funny, Its not old age, its just that we have stored to many things in are head and forgot where we put them. LOL

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

Boy you got that right! LOL

FOUND IT!! Cool - I'm up to speed. Well, if first gear counts. Thank you to both our resident wizards.

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

First gear is better than PARK!!! LOL! You go girl!

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

That is really funny!!

I was just telling Tils that I am working on DH's computer (mine is doing weirdness - I think it is going through adolescence) but DH has 3 screens - and they are all on, with different things on each - its a bit overwhelming. In fact it makes me a bit motion sick -they go into that rest mode - with swoony logo movement , and yikes! Too much. Who designs those things! Really. I've got to get off this.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Or you could just buy another cord to hook your camera into the usb port already on your computer (or DH's computer) . . .

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I just bought a smart phone from Verizon so I have about a week to learn how it works. Oh yeah I need to learn Bluetooth technology where the internet works and where it doesn't ............... It is good to learn, it is good to learn.......

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

Sofer, I am with you. DH has offered to buy me a camera for Christmas, and I want a digital SLR and I can't face 'learning' the new technology.

Wheel barrow.
Spade.
Dirt.

Seeds (sometimes frustrating).
Actually, interesting point - seed sowing is not that different from learning technology. Now why doesn't that get to me. Hmmmmmm, I will think that through.

Now - song of praise.

I want to thank Tils for her ability to give IT instructions.

I am back on my own laptop (with only one screen - thank goodness) - and I have Tils to thank for this: over the months she has helped me with other points, offering very patient clear instructions. This a.m. I was on the phone with the helpline, and sitting through one of their 'hold-for-2-minutes-please' and I was trying out various and sundry clicks of frustration, wishing Tils could just give me some of her clear instructions to fix this. That inspired me to 1) read the entire 'can't connect' message through to the end where I found suggested instructions. I followed them as if they were tils. guess what - it worked. And 2) I couldn't remember how I did it when the helpline came back on and I told them 'I' figured it out. This is how much technology sticks with me. (I have to do something about that - this is stupid!)

Tils, thank you for sitting on my shoulder and telling me "read the instructions". I will endeavour to keep that in mind.

Sun is shining, and I am out to dig - that technology comes naturally.

LOL Laurie you make me feel like a star, And of to bed I go with a glow.
And yes have him get that camera, you will love it, don't let it scare you.
Love Ya all.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

It is fun to learn it is just difficult to keep it there. LOL I will become a DGer with my cell phone or else. I am tired of having to haul around my laptop, camera, calender, pictures, etc. It is all now in my palm. Gosh I hope I don't loose it! Back up with paper and pencil sounds good to me.

Morning everyone! Reading all of this has put a huge smile on my face and made me laugh.^_^ You're all so funny.
I just accomplished a feat last night, I finished a swim class and feel pretty good about it. I had taken one 27 yrs ago and was doing quite well until the instructor quit mid-stream and left us all with a new instructor that had no clue of what to do. Needless to say I was discouraged right away and so were the rest of the class. I went back for one more lesson to find that the new guy was still in the dark so didn't finish the class. DH talked me into taking another beginners class and he took it with me! We had a ball together and I DID LEARN TO SWIM! DH is going to continue on into an intermediate class and I'll go and do lap swims while he's taking the class. I can do lap swims in the same pool right next to the class. We learned the back stroke last night and I loved it. Very relaxing and easy to do. I'm going to work on that and the crawl stroke. Anyway I just had to tell someone besides my family how good I feel about myself. I hope that doesn't sound conceited.
Happy to read that I'm not the only one that's not technology savvy.

Ohhhhhhhh, gardener, another swimmer!!!!!! I just love it, its really my sport (well, along side wheelbarrowing - is wheelbarrowing a sport? The way I do it, YES! Competitive wheelbarrowing - can we get it in the Olympics) Brillant for keeping your back in good fettle.

Hooooorrrrrrray for you, and congratulations - come on in, the water is fine!!!!

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

Wow Laurie you make me feel GREAT!!! Thanks for the congrats! Maybe we should make wheelbarrowing a sport!^_^ I have a cat named Spooky that LOVES wheelbarrow rides, he stands in the very front and just bounces along, funniest thing you ever saw! You wouldn't think something that looks so sophisticated would enjoy a WHEELBARROW! LOL!

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

Good job Soferdig. It only took you 1 day to figure it out, and thanks for the congrats! I think it's going to make me feel a little more confident in alot of things I do now. Don't worry about the caps, just keep on typin'.^_^

PERTH, Australia

Susan, that's fantastic, you learning to swim. That's a real accomplishment

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

I'm catching up on this thread and smiling with each post!

And, Susan, I am truly truly impressed - I can "sort of" swim, but NOT WELL.

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

Gardener, I love your milk can pot stands. It really lifts them up to easy viewing and enjoyment height, and the painted decorations are great too. What have you planted in them?

I'm totally impressed by anyone learning to swim, as I am a person far more comfortable with my feet on the ground, and of course my hands in the dirt digging about. And lap swimming, no less. That means
you really got it down to actually get somewhere in the water. What a great way to get exercise during the soggy winter months too. My physical therapist said swimming is good for joint health and flexibility since you're not putting pressure on them in the supportive environment. I did 'water walking' when I had a back injury and they recommended swimming for that kind of thing. I can float, sort of, but that's about it.

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

I appreciated swimming since I was 4 when I had to get 2 1/2 miles to shore when my sailboat sunk last year. It is good to have the confidence and lack of fear in water.

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

Susan, Get job, My DH and I used to swim a lot, then work work took over, no time and no place to go with are scheule, maybe someday we can pick it up again. Kudos to you both.

Steve, I am impressed, a phone and DG and you learned it in one day. Kudos to you too. Who cares about CAPS as long as we hear from you, is all that counts. ^_^

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

Thank you everyone! You all make me feel great!
maury, thank you. I've planted a couple different plants in them, last yr after the grandkids painted the 3 larger pots I had Martha Washington Geraniums in plastic pots and set them inside, the smaller pot on the far right was painted by a friend of our's daughter about 6 yrs ago, the Geranium was planted directly in it. This yr I had African Daisies planted in plastic pots and set them in all 4. The Daisies didn't do well in the shade as they stopped blooming, so will find a shade loving annual for next yrs planting. I did however put the pots on the south deck and the Daisies started blooming again. I think next yr I will buy a couple more of these rectangular planters and fill them will African Daisies and set them on the south deck for the summer. What do you think? I'll plant Petunias, Verbena and Lobelia in those again so will need new ones for the Daisies. I get those pots at Walmart, they come in the grey or terra cotta, they're made of recycled material and also come in small and large hanging pots that swivel so you can rotate them during the growing cycle. I love 'em. I'll post a pic of them next all are very inexpensive.

Here's a pic of the small hanging pots. As you can see the hook is metal and is molded inside the plastic. Those are a small flowered Wave Petunia that the blooms are two different colors, I got those at Bimart.
