Help on shrub choice

I live on 3 acres and have a pretty nice size back yard. I am trying to bring the yard in a little so I would like to plant some nice size shurbs. I would like something that stays green and blooms. Something other than azeleas. ANY SUGGESTIONS!!

Gardenias are nice, or camellias.

One of the first things that comes to mind are Gardenias. There are so many different types and sizes now. Also, there's lots of great evergreen Abelias like 'Little Richard', 'Kaleidoscope' and 'Mardi Gras'.
