It's nice when the sun comes out and someone wants to pose for you.

Beautiful pics Mrs Ed!!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Your robin is just beautiful Mrs._Ed, and how nice that the sun decided to come out!

Here's a plain old Blue Jay - kind of a skinny one at that!

I have never seen a Kingfisher on this lake, I think it was checking things out - real jumpy.

Thats great Al! I love Kingfishers!

Nice pic Elphaba!

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Oh golly. I'm hopelessly behind! Going to go back and catch up.
This is not a great shot because he was soooo far away and my camera only has so much zoom power.
Just posting it to confirm. This is an Osprey, isn't it?

Deb, I think that's a great shot!

Here's another poor shot of a Hooded Warbler. I had a female today too. I only got blurry photos of her. She's a gal on the move! There was also at least one other male because two males were chasing each other around several times today!

Great pictures everyone.

Mrs. Ed, you and the new camera are a good match. Great pictures of the robin.

This is an Osprey, isn't it?

Yep!

Resin

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Thanks, Resin.
Loving all the photos I'vebeen catching up on,...specially your Song Thrush, Wallaby and Tiger, your Ospreys!

I saw a Sandhill Crane fly overhead on my way home this evening. That occurred after the near blizzard we had this morning and afternoon. Thankfully, the snow is already gone. Poor birds!

The marsh out back is alive with songs I haven't heard in many months. :)

Melbourne, FL

Great pics everyone! I especially love the Osprey shots.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I have to take about 50 pictures to get one good one. I can't seem to have good focus unless I have good sun (my 200mm prime lens is manual). I try not to get frustrated and it helps when one can get a decent shot!.

Melbourne, FL

I delete most of my pics, Mrs_Ed.....I imagine a lot of us do the same.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Here's a slightly out-of-focus shot to make everyone feel better about their photo skills! This is my new challenge, a Black and White Warbler. She doesn't stop moving.

Very neat Elphaba!

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Elphaba - I saw the first B&W Warbler I'd ever spotted a few weeks ago and I took about 20 shots. Yours is better than any I got that day. :)
Deb

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Mrs. Ed...You are doing great with the new camera...love that GF as well as the Robin pics. I take tons of pics most days and delete most of them!

Elphaba...Love your birds and thanks!

Great pics everyone!

Dacula, GA(Zone 7b)

I have really been enjoying all of the pictures. Great shots and very nice to see birds we don't get around here. Its my last count day for PFW. Not many birds today or yesterday for some reason. Got some pics Monday when it was colder and overcast.

Heres 4 yellow-rumped warblers on the suet

Thanks. This group has been hanging around for a few weeks. They fight over the suet mostly. I was amazed I got all 4 in a pic. Here's one having a "bad hair day."

Wonderful pics beclu!!! Thank you for posting them !!

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Yeah. Come to think of it, we see those lil "butter butts" alot, but rarely more than 1 or 2 together. And I've never seen them come to the suet. Any particular flavor suet you're using there, Beclu?
Deb

Melbourne, FL

I saw one visiting my suet a few times last year, but it's a rare occurence.

Marlton, NJ

***Depsi will be starting the new Daily Pics soon***

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Love the pictures.

Four "butter butts"! I'd love to see just one.

Gosh beclu that tree the Downy is on has really been claimed by the woodpeckers!

Wow - yesterday was a busy day on this thread. Beautiful pics everyone!! Eleanor

Melbourne, FL

Those are amazing shots. In photo 11 the Osprey actually has a fish in each talon!

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

This is so exciting to look at. I love the bird captions. Only a birder could understand what the birds are trying to say. (I am in the house looking out and translating all the time, I humor myself)

The osprey pictures are great. I have never seen them nesting. Love to see them.

It is really exciting to see all the birds come back to every part of the world here. Great pictures everyone.

Marlton, NJ

Those Osprey images are incredible! I love the last one you posted tiger!

Great thread everyone!

Dacula, GA(Zone 7b)

The Osprey pics are awesome. Thanks for sharing the link.

Deb, I make the suet using a recipe Pelle posted. Mainly peanut butter and oatmeal.

GG, I wish woodpeckers had made those holes. I did it with DH's drill press. LOL

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Those Osprey pictures are wonderful.

Beclu, you had me fooled. The hole in my house, as well as those in several of the trees on my neighbor's lot look exactly like those in your tree. Good for you!
Love it!

The lengths birders will go to! Tuesday, I spent a few hours out on the porch snipping hair into small, manageable pieces for the birds to use for nesting material. I noticed this morning that the container is almost empty. Time to prepare more for them.

GG
