Happy Birthday Harper, and happy Pencil Day everyone!
Harper's Birthday - Part 5!
Happy every day, everyone. Pencil Day? Should go hand in hand with Paper Day.
So I am confused. Not about Pencil day, I love pencils, but about Harper's birthday. Is this more foolishness from the NE posters or is she just special. Anyway, Happy birthday today and everyday that you want cake and balloons. I love to party too. Patti
I get this calendar print-out from a teachers website that has silly, true, and unusual "holidays" on it. My dd loves it. Yesterday was "Mr. WalMart" day, and tomorrow is "Eiffel's Tower" day - get your baguettes ready!
Patti, do you remember (way back when) Harper's b'day thread was getting long and chatty? So some decided to keep it going to see if we could get the longest birthday thread. So far, so good!
Yes, Harper really is special. I agree with Sue.
Happy pencil day! I do draw the line at saying happy anything to walmart though. I think the longest B-Day thread was passed long ago but shoot for the year anniversary, I agree Harper is special as is every gardener I have met here.
We are a grand bunch, aren't we?
Awww, you're sweet Arlene. I love you.
Patti, it's just NE foolishness!
Imagine my surprise to see my birthday thread revived this morning. Good morning everyone! Happy Pencil Day!
I must confess that I hadn't checked this thread in almost forever!
So ...Happy Birthday, Harper!
Absolutely - happy birthday, Harper - your baby brug is coming along nicely :-)
Happy birthday Harper. It's actually my little guy's sixth birthday! I prefer eraser day.
Happy birthday to mini Victor.
Thanks Pirl. I will relay that to #2!
Starry, starry night...
Harper - I haven't wished you a happy birthday in sooo long!! Hope you are still having a wonderful birthday year!
Victor - Happy 6th birthday to your little guy! Eleanor
Thanks Eleanor.
Happy Birthday Harper, Victor #2, and my nephew #2 also - aren't birthdays grand? Oh, and pencils are terrific too. Happy Pencil Day. Eraser Day is in July, I think. xx, Carrie
Victor, Eraser Day is April 13!
Really?! There should be a 'Delete' day - for the new eraser.
Does eraser day have enything to do with tax day, 2 days later?
OK aside from this being another one of the perpetual Harper's happy Birthday days, apparently there are a few others to celebrate on this day. I had to look up scrofula and I think every one needs St. B to to keep that at bay. I am beyond excited to think about Bunsen burners and the great days I had traveling around for a year abroad in the 60's with my camping gaz blue canisters and a Bunsen burner.
Oranges and Lemons Day
Luna (Old Roman Moon Festival)
Sacred Drama Day (Ancient Babylonia)
Bunsen Burner Day
National Clams on the Half Shell Day
St. Balbinus' Day (patron against diseases of the lymph glands, scrofula)
Much more important - Mets Opening Day!!
Victor, Ninth inning and they are still winning. My dogs are on the fire. Patti
Hope your birthday is continuing in style, Harper! You are indeed special and most deserving of this unique, record-breaking honor!!
Down here it's "Happy Yay We Got Some Real Rain Today Day"!!!!
We got some, too! Along with a day of in the 60's!
Awesome, Sue!! You are sooooooooo due!!! Enjoy, and hopefully tomorrow will bring you another warm Spring day!!
Drive by Happy Birthday, Harper wishes!!!
****Beep****Beep!!!!
Patti, you made me laugh with the Bunson Burner Day. Who thought that up?
Hey, I know I'm late. Too late, but Happy April Fool's Day everyone! Turns out, I didn't play any tricks on anyone. My son did, though. He snuck Tabasco sauce in the macaroni and cheese. That was a surprise!!
Happy Belated birthday to little Victor!
Harper
Today is another birthday for Harper along with some of this other special days that need celebrating: Children's Book Day along with Hans Christian Andersen's birthday, Ferret Day, National PB &J Day and Yo-Yo Day but can any of you both manage both together? Plus don't forget it is National Sweet Potato Day, not sure if there is a yam day too. I know they are technically different. And in honor of baseball season just starting, don't forget that on April 2, 1931 in an exhibition game with the Yankees vs the Lookouts in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a teenage girl named Jackie Mitchell struck out consecutively both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in an exhibition game. "The Girl Who Struck Out Babe Ruth"
by Jean L. S. Patrick available in paperback. Patti
Ooooh! PB & J Day! I gotta make me one to celebrate! We have a couple of yo-yos around here. I could probably chew and yo at the same time. No special tricks, though. Hey, I could even make sweet potatoes tonight.
Jackie Mitchell sounds pretty cool!
So you can feed PB&J and sweet potatoes to your ferret, while playing with a yo-yo and reading a Hans Christian Andersen story?
Hey, I celebrated yesterday with sweet potato fries dipped in raspberry melba sauce - yummy!! The first time I heard of this tasty delight I replied with YUCK, but I was encouraged to order the dish and to my surprise it was out of this world delicious!! How's the birthday going, Harper!! Eleanor
amethystsm, Good one and apparently so, but don't forget to top it with raspberry Melba sauce as recommended by our other recent Birthday girl, Eleanor.
Today, April 3rd, saddle up everyone, as in 1860 the Pony Express began service service between St. Joseph, Mo., and Sacramento, Calif. But don't forget this is National Tweed Day, so get out that old Jacket and wear it while munching on a Chocolate Moose (hard to find on Nantucket) and looking for a Rainbow to celebrate a special day set aside for them. I think every day you find a rainbow is a day to celebrate or see a moose. Patti
It's National Tweed Day?! I only have a tweed skirt. Guess I'll be wearing that. Hey, I found a rainbow last night! It was in a bunch of old pictures I found.
I'm wearing my tweedy bird briefs.
i taut i tauw a puddy tat.
