Anybody have any idea what does this? Up North we had tent caterpillars with similar structures. Is this just a fancy web?

I'm not sure what makes that web but I find it on some of my evergreens each spring. I just take a stick and destroy the web and have never had any problems from them. I've always assumed it's some type of spider.

Thanks for answering Naturelover. All I see in the web are tiny insects. so I assume it is some kind of spider web.
