I plant in the ground, raised beds, hanging baskets and thinking about Mars. All vegetables. Wouldn't plant anything except something to eat or legal. Is there a chart anywhere that tlls the menimum depth the plant has to have to do well. Mainly, eggplant, tomatoes, okra, cauliflower, hot peppers, squash and so on. Help thanks. PS one of my planters is only 8" deep.

Thanks. That was just what I wanted. I will raise my bed another 7". Do you have any suggestion of what veggies to plant to run up a trellis? Thanks Howard
I would like to suggest pole beans. I think they would work very nicely on the trellis.
