an azelia i've had for 10 yrs turned brown last spring and isnt dead.the leaves are soft but aren't as open as they should be.i have to use a systemic about twice a year to control lace flies and those worms that burrow up the stems.i have about 80 to 100 azelias and this is only one affected.any ideas ? also no new leaf growth along the stems to push off the old leaves and replace them.cant believe it's still alive
azelia turned brown last year
Perhaps it got a root fungus similar that the Rhodos get.
If that is the case--it will not recover! Dig it up and get rid of it and DO NOT plant another one in it's place! The soil would also be contaminated....
Just a guess--and a suggestion!
