This was hilarious because it must have been every picture I clicked on that day.....these ARE all mine and I am there somewhere.Hopefully I will have MG to do the same with them later on this year.

oh my god that reminds me of my grandma's sticker factory!!! when I was little she'd bring home sheets and rolls of scratch & sniff rose stickers!!! all different kinds on the pages. wow thanks for the memories, and for the photo collage tips! I'm off to do it now.

i'll be back!

Melbourne, FL

Took this pic before I left for work this morning, still kind of dark so had to use flash.

Chantell, DON'T do it.. if you start early with the seedlings, you'll be transplanting all day like I did today..lol. Well, maybe just a couple..lol

good morningglory everyone, ( i am so corny ).

I couldn't get Picasa to download on my mac, I'm gonna look for the collage thing that's compatible, easy and best of all FREE today. It's been raining like crazy and i hope my new irises don't rot...

your flowers look good today gardenpom. aren't chainlink fences REALLY their favorite? I'm making some trellises out of that thick chicken wire that comes like a roll of gridded rectangles, and I'm shaping them like 4 foot tubes, cutting the grid out of the bottom rungs for stakes and poking them in the pots. works great and they twine really tight.

here's a nice couple for today. the one that turned out white is i think is Hama No Fubuki, except without any pink streaks, it's an albino, just the slightest hint of a powdery light light pink self. I like it but I wonder if other's have had the first sets of flowers appear very washed out or if it's a result of not enough light.

that one had to be on flash too, but the ones with the sun behind the flowers are easy to love. these were on my cabin too (my art studio just behind my house).

Here's what the plant next to that one did today. I should give them names... they're such individuals.

OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY :-) am I getting anxious to see some in a few weeks.
I love all of your pictures but the pink ones above stole my heart. They look so elegant.
**
How long do the blossoms last ? is it i.e.daylilies just one day ?
I grew a few MG's a long time ago but at that time I wasn't running around with my camera constantly and taking notes.

Louisville, KY

just until strong light hits them. if outside, you make sure they have morning shade, they'll last until afternoon sometimes. Mine inside here have held pretty firm under the big grow light which is nice. But these this morning are just in front of a window on a rainy day. i love when they're not all the way open yet. but here it is a few hours later.

i checked out your roses on your profile. soo soooo lovely.
i like the photo of you in there with your friends.

Very nice blooms.. just beautiful and I love the photo display too. I put all my photos in Picasa and don't know how to use the program, so they are stuck in there.. till I learn.

looks like you're having fun :-)

where did you get your obelisks ? or are you making them and if so what weight of wire ?

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Soulja - Cool collages! I like them!

I, too, am curious about your obelisks. Please share info about them.

Mesilla Park, NM

me too, those obelisks look like just the right size.

Louisville, KY

they are from Best Nest.com and the small ones (non spiral) are only $10. I had looked for the spiral ones all over and found them to be very pricey, like 30 - 40 dollars, (!!!) esp at hardware stores and local garden stores. Best Nest had the spirals for the best price, like $15 - $18 each. They come 3 and 4 ft. tall.

My plan was to have fully mature vines by last frost so i could just set them in front of the lattice fences and let them take off. We'll see if my timing is right. More are started too for going straight in the ground.

They also have lots of trellises. I also bought a cedar arbor with a nice gate for my fenced in round iris bed. whole thing was like $160 i think. They also had the most attractive and perfect size wire fencing that you just stick in the ground to keep dogs out - which I've searched EVERYWHERE for. I've spent days looking for that because my Lily the dog likes to go poo on my irises and daylilies ... bad dog.

Louisville, KY

lovely today.

i was hoping someone could help me with a couple questions. When do I harvest seeds? and how do I store them? and i don't know how to tactfully ask to be considered for sharing the rarer seeds but... I would love to be considered for some of those ever educational grow outs ... for testing purposes only ... *wink

Becky I love the plum shadows and yaguruma blizzard, as well as Joyce Cobb.

I'm also interested in Higes. or feathered kinds. any help or directions pointed is so greatly appreciated.

What a beautiful photos Soulja and Gardenpom! Keep em coming!!!

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

Soulja, that 2 tone blue one that you said was big, is gorgeous. I really like that one.

On my MG's, I harvest the seeds after they turn brown. But, you have to keep an eye on them or they will pop open, and scather the seeds before you can get them, sometimes. : ) I guess you could tie something around the ones you wanted to keep.
