No, I'm doing good just getting stuff to grow in it, for now. ;~)
Spring Has Sprung! .... at least i hope so!!
Next set is from my sister's house, and I am JEALOUS!! Especially because she hates gardening, she hates wildlife, and she hates any kind of outdoor work. She lives in a great big old house in Lancaster and most of her gorgeous plants were already there when she bought the place. The soil has been cultivated for so long that it is in exceptional condition. SO JEALOUS!!!
Phlox blooming now.
Bronc--those are these Leucojum:

you should grab some from here and transplant to your house--low care, bloom early.
TJ, I'm detecting a little note of jealousy from you. ;-)
Carla
Just a wee touch of the mildest sort of envy.. Right. LOL

Don't worry T.J. you will be there too one of these days.
Josephine.
Patience is something I'm still trying to find. You should see the size of her sycamores, pecans, cottonwoods, cedars, pears and oaks!! I'll probably be long gone before my little saplings even get close to that size. I'm jealous, you know?
I hope when my place eventually belongs to another they will appreciate all this hard work we are doing now.

I'll go slap them if they don't, Christi!
My first home was 13 years old when we bought it. What a joy in the spring watching as things popped up blooming all over the place. This one was new and we started with johnson grass. Lots of blisters before it was all gone.

I just drove down a street where they allow the wildflowers to bloom and there were bluebonnets everywhere! I forgot that it's that time of year. You country folk should post some pictures. Maybe you already have. I should just go look!
Anyway, here is a sunflower called Cherry Rose that is a total disappointment so far. It's the first to bloom as advertised, but it's about a foot tall when it's supposed to get to five feet, and the flowers are half the size they're supposed to be (2" instead of 4"). Maybe it will keep growing? The only sunflowers that I've grown in the past have been volunteers from fallen bird seed which seem to grow a heck of a lot better!
I will show you a picture looking out my back door of wild flowers. I couldn't make myself mow them down last week. In fact, this coming fall I am going to plant lbs and lbs of wildflower seed and see if I can get lots of them going.
I love the idea of spreading wildflower seed. I want to do that on the road by our driveway. Gessiegail, please post your photo, it didn't come thru.
Would anyone care to start a new "Spring" thread? This one is having trouble squeezing thru my phone line ~ LOL
i started a new thread due to the length of this one, have fun!

Thanks, I always feel jinxed. For me to start a continuing thread seems to end it... Besides, I didn't have any different photos at the moment. pod
