I have a 10’ x 10’ triangle area in my backyard that I want to plant a shade type garden and I was wondering if anyone had any good on-line sites or books with easy garden plans. I have some experience with gardening but I have never really tried to layout a garden from scratch, so I am pretty much a novice at designing garden layouts. Thanks for you thoughts or suggestions to get my new area started.

Better homes and Gardens has a section on their web for landscape plans you just have to register but it's free.

Don’t forget to call before you dig! Even for simple projects, like planting shrubs or trees, it’s important to call 811 (http://www.call811.com). There could be utility lines where you break ground - sometimes multiple lines are in a common area and their depths vary, so you might not know about all of them. Good luck with your garden!

I’m in the same situation…updating a north side entry way always in shade. I especially like the many colors of astilbes.
