What are the benefits of using Peroxide 3% on your plants?

Duncan, OK(Zone 7a)

Hi all, I am some what of a newbie here, I have a question for you all. I have heard that you can use peroxide on your plants. what are the benefits, when & why to use it, how often and how much peroxide per how much water should one use?
Thanks

I think it usually used as a sterilizing agent or in solution to prevent fungus infections in seedlings. Hydrogen peroxide isn't effective for very long though, it breaks down rather quickly.

Thank you Len123 for the info.

It can also be used to add O2 to the soil. I add 1 Tablespoon per quart when I water.
It can help tell you when the soil is not draining well, and holding more micro-organisms than it should, because it will foam when added to the soil. You have to mix this fresh every time you use it, because it begins to degrade the moment it's added to water, and continues to degrade rapidly in the soil.
I know there's another thread on DG about this, with a LOT more detail, but can't remember where I saw it.

probably on the seed germination or propagation forum. some people soak certain seeds as a stratification technique, but i think it is unknown if it benefits or not.

Thank you both Marcia & Len123. I will start watering my plants with it. Thanks.
