Love those bluebirds dellrose. I have only seen one here so far. I would bet you will have birdie eggs hatching in that bluebird house. Lucky you!
Thanks Resin.
I am going out and about for a while and see what is lurking out there today. It is a bit chilly and overcast here from time to time, but I guess if we want to take pictures, we make the best of what we have.
Daily Pics .... Vol. #76
e is so handsome and I think I saw him "wave" to the female and then sort of fluffed his feathers...I can imagine what that means!! LOL!
"Hey bay-beeee… Look at me and my gorgeous feathers. You want some of this, don't you. Hey Bay-beee… I've got a nice nest box right over here, come on in and check it out, I'll show you some of my art"
ooo, a cute little guy. where do you get your peanuts? I just got back a silo that I gave my Gram, but I can't find shelled peanuts.
Great pics!
Great shot of the Cardinal dellrose.
That Starling really looks shocked at the cold burn, it's feathers are stood on end!
nanny, the Bluejay is showing it's best side, lol, it is sitting pretty.
pelle, I'm sure you can get your birds to pose for you, nice shot.
I got the Magpie today! A long shot though, or two, they were there again cackling at me but still secretive so I waited for one to fly hopefully over my way, but no, it had to fly the long shot. The sky was more grey than shows.
Nice pics GM! The Carolina Wren and the White-breasted Nuthatch are two of my favorite birds because of the friendly nature!
Nice flight shots wallaby!
Mrs.Ed...LOL! I get my shelled peanuts from 2 different farm supply stores. I've never seen them in any of the chair stores!
Wallaby that is an awesome shot of the Magpie...such a beautiful bird!
I think I just saw a "wing wave" from the Male Eastern Bluebird. The sun is very bright right now!
Very nice pics everyone.
I get shelled peanuts from WBU, usually get one or two 20 pound bags at WBU when I have the time to 'tide me over' till the next time. (its about 30 - 35 miles one way to WBU). Years ago, I have gotten shelled peanuts at Petsmart.
Love all the great pics everyone! Thanks for sharing!

This is the answer I recieved from the First Nature Co.
Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns.
Rumors about red dye being bad for humming birds have been around for many years. We have done our homework and found that there is absolutely no conclusive evidence that the dye that we use has any ill affects on the birds.
We do understand however that some still don’t want to take the chance of using red nectar that is why we also offer clear nectar.

Lol rose, yes I saw that wing wave! You must have been close to the A Goldfinch, great shot!
I got my shelled peanuts at Lidls supermarket, lol, anyone want to take a look?
I decided when I first went on my garden rounds not to take my camera as it was so grey, but there was the pair of blackbirds sat on the plum tree with the male looking me nearly eye to eye so I got the camera! He had gone to a higher branch, this doesn't look like my male from last year but could be one of the young ones I was feeding. Same one as yesterday's pics, he is easily recognisable.
adel, I D mailed you.
Wonderful shots wallaby!
Great pictures folks.
Today I had the experience of a lifetime. A little bird flew into my living room picture window. There is a huge houseplant inside on a stand and I believe it was heading for the plant.
My heart sank. I went outside to see if I could find it and it was sitting in my flower bed. I approached it and it was a little Woodpecker. I petted its head, then gently picked it up to see if I could find any injuries. It's little wings and legs seemed fine. It wrapped its toes around my finger and sat there for about five minutes, then flew up on to the porch and perched on the side of the house. I, of course, am scurrying to get my camera. As I came back outside hoping it would still be there, the little rascal was starting to peck a hole in the house! I did get some pictures. It has a little tuft of hair right at the base of its beak! I believe it might be a Downy?
Here is the picture.
GG
Hi GG, Yes thats a Downy. I can just see the black dots on the outer tail feathers.
Glad shes okay!
Glad the Downy was OK GG, I think it could have been the sky reflections in the window which fooled it. There is apparently something you can stick on the windows which they can see but you don't notice. There was a thread about it a long time ago, it's a transparent film with leaf patterns but I don't know what it's called.
Nesting time nanny!
Thanks Pelle and Nanny.
Delrose, just as you snapped the picture of the sparrow, it threw a feather. Neat shot! I certainly hope the lady bluebird unfluffs a bit before she meets handsome fellow. Those pictures are a hoot.
Wallaby, love that magpie. What a magnificent bird.
GG
Neat shot nanny; I've been hearing the crows alot lately so I expect to see them breaking off long branches anytime now.
Nice shot Debin! So good to see a different Nuthatch!
