Thanks sibyl for the new thread,
I'm jealous of these pics, I still have snow in mine.
And today was no different, more snow and dull day.

Very bad pic of Carolina Wren, being so little and it was a bit far away. I didn't even know what I photographed until I downloaded it.

I'll try this again.

Wonder what's up in that direction?

Thanks Wallaby. I will be happy to ship some of this rainy weather to you.

Last one of the Mallards. Hope they nest here.

They swim off upstream.

pelle I read the contents on the nectar and it contains FDA #40 red dye. I dumped the nectar and made some of my own, then sent a nasty gram to the First Nature Co.

Wonderful pictures everyone. Love them all. Wallaby, you can see the chin hairs on that crop of the Blackbird. Gosh, even Blackbirds are beautiful.

Good for you Adelbert.

Nice shots, GG!

My Canada Geese and ducks, Mallards I think, were still asleep when I passed by!

Thanks Pelle. I did see another flock of Cedar Waxwings fly over, but too quickly for a shot. Glad you have started seeing some also.

I don't know if I will ever get these Sparrows down! LOL
Last week I thought I had a Song Sparrow but it was a Fox Sparrow and now ...the other way around. Song Sparrow was my first though but I second guessed myself. Should just put them on the ID thread I guess!! Ah well...

Beautiful pics bsharf!! Look at those big eyes!

Don't worry nanny it will come. Theres just some subtle little differences between them.

Hey, I know this little guy now...as long as I get the right angle!! lol

Thanks for the encouragement, pelle!!

Yes, plus that yellow is a tell-tale sign. I just love these little guys. Haven't seen mine for a while.

Here's a little Audobon's Yellow-rumped Warbler. (breeding male)

Sorry for the super dark appearing sky. I don't know what causes that.

He was kind and let me get several images.

Thanks GG! I got the rain this morning, lol, very speedy delivery! It was sunny again earlier but now is very dull with drizzly rain and cold winds.

Nice shots gardenpom, I like the Grackle's shiny colours.

You're still doing very well with your pics burn, even with snow.

Lol, nanny, that Sparrow would have foxed me too.

bsharf, you always have such big birds, well fed on fish I guess.

The YR Warbler is a very pretty bird tiger! My skies turn out a very deep blue sometimes, it seems to be richer when the skies have no hazy cloud visible even if there's big cumulus type clouds.

I like to see my Sparrows too, there was a male and female eating the peanuts in the feeder I put up. Unfortunately grey blanket weather makes poor pics! This female House Sparrow looks very white on it's cheek, maybe a juvenile?

The male House Sparrow, I like his richly coloured wing feathers.

They have gone through that thing full of nuts in nearly 3 days. These two Blue Tits are differently coloured, I'm guessing a male and female with the male on the right.

Both with peanut in their beaks, see the extra colour pattern on the one on the right? This would have been good if it was better light, but I was very close so they might not have been there if it had!

Wonderful pics everyone! Sybil thank you for starting the new thread and for the lovely pics!

Have a good day everyone...it is sunny and cool today in SW Mo!

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Love the pictures. The eyes on that Heron are amazing. I enjoy looking especially at the pictures of sparrows and am wondering how in the world I am ever going to learn to identify each of them. Oh well, I'm still struggling with woodpeckers.

Glad the rain arrived safely Wallaby. LOL

Speaking of woodpeckers, here is one I shot in the rain on Saturday. I am looking at the bars on its tail. I think it's a Downy.

I can't tell by the pic GG but they sure are acrobatic aren't they?

My battery is charging on my camera so will share some pics from yesterday.

Of course I have to show off the male Eastern Bluebird. He is so handsome and I think I saw him "wave" to the female and then sort of fluffed his feathers...I can imagine what that means!! LOL!
