And a Red-bellied Woodpecker. They are usually pretty flighty so I don't often get to snap a pic. This one stayed put for quite a good while.

I know what you mean about the shock, I mess up almost all my flight shots from them appearing so suddenly and not having anytime to prepare before they disapear behind the trees.

Pelle I was thinking a ballet position on your hawk, been way over 40 years & I can't remember the position names, flexing his muscles works fow me! Pretty cardinal too.

You got up close and personal with that hawk pelle, it's foot does look strange, I wonder if it's damaged.


My friendly Blackbird was on the coal bunker when I went outside, waiting for his catfood but Straypuss was sat next to his nearly empty dish!

adel what feeder is that? I think I know but forget the name.

Is that dyed food in the feeder??? Very bad for them you know.

BB hopped up on the fence, with one eye on the food.

I feel guilty now, I often throw him some food but Straypuss never stops asking at the moment so I didn't want to encourage him. He had at least 1 and 1/2 tins yesterday!

Here he has half an eye on me and the food.

I got a few much the same, so cropped off this one close. You can see the yellow edge of the eye clearly.

He didn't seem to have any problems just had it in a weird position for a few minutes.

Certainly didn't stop him from stalking the birds in differnt areas of the yard, just looked odd.

Saturday, I had some new visitors to the creek that runs below my property. The pictures are not really great, it was nearing dusk, and raining like heck, but I want to share a few of them with you anyway.

The Mallards are in a nice setting GG, they look very sweet! Poor you with all that rain, I wish we would get some, lol, then I will complain but we've had very little this winter.

I got a quick shot of a Jackdaw across the garden, not too clear but interesting.

This morning I was treated to an air ballet of sorts presented by a flock of Ibis. They stayed over my house and changed directions a few times. Here are a few pics.
