Need help identifying this plant
Ctenanthe "Brazilian Snow: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/53679/ I had a large one a couple of years ago but it ended up dying on me from lack of water (I had never planted it in the ground!) I did get a couple of cuttings that are rooted though. Lovely plants for shade.
The common name is 'Comb Flower' and the botanical name is 'Ctenanthe Lubbersiana' and is closely related to Calathea, but is more tufted with long-stalked basel leavesand short stalked stem leaves. Its common name refers to the arrangement of the bracts of the flower. 'C' is more or less silent in the pronunciation of its botanical name.
