My basement sump pump has a discharge pipe which shoots water onto my garden, only a few feet from the house. I am trying to re-route the water away from the house and was wondering if I could hold it in a rainbarrel to use later? This is a flower garden only, no edibles.
can sump pump discharge water be used in garden?
As long as there isn't anything rancid or toxic in the pump well, it should be ok...but I would be hesitant to use it on vegetables, like you said.
Somrtimes the water that sits below the intake of the sump pump can get pretty gnarly !
