I planted a few daffodil bulbs in the fall, and they all came up and bloomed beautifully (yay!).
But, I have about 80 bulbs that I never got around to putting in the ground. They've been sitting out on my back (covered) patio all winter, and they don't look decayed at all. Can I go ahead and put 'em in the ground? Do you think they'd survive and bloom next Spring?
I live in zone 7b - I suspect the bulbs would die in my garage from the heat - and I don't have enough fridge space to store 'em. I don't want to throw them in the compost pile!
*crosses fingers*
Best wishes,
Cat
Can I plant daffodil bulbs now?
Just go ahead and plant them. They'll come up next spring :)
They might even come up this Spring--but not necessarily bloom.
The reason we all plant bulbs in the fall is so they can grow roots all during Winter. Maybe you might get some bloom if you plant them now--but not 100%.......
However, it is better you plant them NOW, than not at all....
Gita
Thank you! :)
