Spots on Hydrangea leaves

Can anyone please tell me what the spots on my hydragea leaves are? They seem to be alot more visible on the bottom side of the leaves. The spots are not black like those found on roses with black spot. If this is a disease could it be treated with ortho roses pride disease control for roses & shrubs, which I recently purchased to treat my Crown Princess Margareta roses for black spot? Thanks for your time and imput!

Could you maybe post a picture? What kind of hydrangea is it?

A picture would really help.

Are these spots on new leaves that have just come out, or on old leaves that fell off for the winter (or sometimes in warmer climates the leaves will hang on for most of the winter). If it's on the old leaves, then I wouldn't worry about it at all, they often get a bit icky looking at the end of the season because they're supposed to die and fall off (I have one hydrangea that holds its leaves for a really long time, so it looks very ratty for most of the winter until the old leaves fall off) If it's the new leaves, then it's probably a fungus, and most likely it's coming from water splashing up onto the leaves--the fungus is in the soil and when it gets splashed onto the leaves then it has a chance to grow. The best way to avoid that sort of spots is to be careful when you're watering that you don't splash. You might also mulch well around the shrub, that could help as well when Mother Nature does the watering for you and you can't help how much splashing you'll get. Also make sure you're watering in the morning rather than the evening--that way the leaves dry out during the day, whereas overnight they stay wet for a long time which encourages fungal growth. I'm not sure if the anti-fungal treatments for black spot, etc will help with this or not, but they're usually not necessary, if you're careful with the watering, you'll generall avoid the majority of problems without having to use chemicals.
