Need a fence cover in the shade!

Woodstock, GA

Just installed a chain link fence for my terrier. Half of the fence is in most or part shade. Any ideas on what will grow on it? Zone 7

Star Jasmine would probably do fine. I have it on the north side where it's pretty shady and it totally covered a lattice panel, and it blooms great. Easy to care for, too.

I agree with JasperDale. Star (aka Confederate) Jasmine will provide pretty good coverage, even in shade and not be as agressive as English Ivy. I've also become rather fond of Holboellia coriacaea, sausage vine (this site has a decent pic http://www.hardyexotics.co.uk/hardyexotics/alphabetpages/h.htm)
and I took the picture below at our local arboretum. It is really tough, takes deep shade and is fast but not a rampant spreader. Plus if you plant two, it will make sausage-like fruits that are super neat.

plantfreak, that is a great pic! Does it ever flower?

DES'58, Clematis "Sweet Autumn" also does well in the shade. The flowers are much smaller than more clematis but the trade-off is they bloom a bit longer and handle shade very well!

Star Jasmine would be a great option.

Thanks Horseshoe! The inset picture is the flower. It's kind of small but I think it's charming.
