I use either Pro-Mix or regular Miracle grow.

All I ever use if Miracle Grow potting soil. I have about 35 House plant in my home.
Even when I managed a Tropical Greenhouse, I still use Miracle Gro Potting soil.

thanks gardeners - Miracle is a winner - Pro not far behind

I do prefer Pro-Mix over Miracle grow, there are too many potting soils with extra crap in them like fertilizer or those moisture crystals.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

You can get Miracle Gro either with or without the moisture crystals depending on what you want (I've killed more plants by overwatering than by underwatering, so I always buy the version without the crystals!) You're stuck with the fertilizer though, but I'm one of those lazy people who never remembers to fertilize my plants, so at least with the MG I know they're getting something!

Pilot Mound, IA

I usualy mix my own using different amounts of vericulmite, perlite, milled spagum moss, peat, general organic garden soil and sand depending on the plant. But sometimes when I am lazy I like either one Pro-Mix or Miracle Gro. The're both fine

thanks a lot for these tips -- you're spot on about the overwater and that's a good idea to avoid crystals
