We're off to a new volume of daily pictures already. Seem like Vol 70 filled up over night. If you want to skip backwards this hyper-link will take you back there.

Bird Watching: Daily Pics Vol 71
Thank you for starting the new thread. Very feathery! :)
This Chickadee has a curved tail
Probably from roosting in a small hole where it doesn't have enough room for the tail. It'll straighten out again when it gets warm enough in spring for it to find some water to bathe in.

Very nice pics Gary!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Pelle
The curved tail brings to mind a question...do birds roost in the same place every night, or the same general area?
Gary...lovely birds for a lovely start for a new thread, thanks for starting it!
do birds roost in the same place every night
If they feel safe in it, yes. They may also use various different roost sites depending on weather or time of year, etc.
Resin
thanks Resin!
Resin, you are just a wealth of knowledge! Thanks for telling about the chickadee's tail.

Nice shot Mrs Ed!
Nice pics nanny and GM!
Aside from looking for & finding bluebirds today, I was also chasing this hawk around all day. Trying & trying to get a good photo, but there was to be NO cooperation on it's part! These very sad photos are the best I got. If anyone can ID it for me from these you need a prize!!
