I am living in ireland the weather is very mild sunny by day very cold at night I sowed some seeds I done every thing it said on the packs but they have all grown tall and lanky does any body know what I did wrong I sowed them indoors I dont want to try again until I find out what I did wrong they were cherry tomato night scented stock and sweet pea thanks

Seedlings that you start indoors need a lot of light or else that's what happens. I always use fluorescent lights, no more than a couple inches above the tops of the seedlings, and I leave the lights on for 16 hours a day.

Also don't give them fertilizer while they are just seedlings as this will make them grow tall and lanky. I don't give mine any ferts until I plant them into the garden and then only a little root stimulant.
