Best plant for a bathroom

Hammond, LA(Zone 8b)

I am interested in putting a few houseplants on my bathroom windowsill. What are the best types of plants for this room? The window faces south, so it won't get direct sunlight, and the glass is privacy glass so the exposure will be even less.

Thanks!

spider plants, those things can take lots of abuse and don't need an excess amount of sunlight.

Pothos
Chinese evergreen
Spider plant
Snake plant

I just moved a fern and some African Violets into the master bath today. The window faces northwest and has a large sill, but the glass is glazed with semi-opaque material. No direct sun, but plenty of light. I may have to move the AVs back if it's too much.

Thanks for all of the responses.

What about a lipstick plant? Would it get enough light?

Would I be lucky enough tto grow anything that flowers?

A lot of things need a decent amount of light in order to flower. Some blooming plants may be able to live just fine in a low light situation, but they won't bloom as well as if they had more light. Off the top of my head I can't think of much that will flower indoors in a low light situation, but maybe someone else knows of something.

You can always use a plant grow light to supplement the natural light. Put it on a timer so it won't wake you up, but is on during normal daylight hours. For many plants, this is enough to let them flower.

After doing some research I ordered a Lipstick Plant, and a Kohleria 'Longwood' from Logees. Good Luck to me!
