The blooms of Magnolia Jane indicate that soon spring is within reach. This tree is about 20ft. tall. MIL's pride!

Doggone I wish Don lived closer! :o)
And Jaye, I'd go dig up her tree and bring it home! LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

A closer look at one. Lovely as only God can do it..

Princess Tammy, even a royal order can't make me do it. She's not easily pleased by humans, but that tree is the only one that can make her smile!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL We have a family member like that, too!
Now wouldn't ya know I just had to add that to my want list! :o) AND it is hardy for here! YIPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Beautiful!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Kim, did you add that to your want list, too? :o)

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Can you bonsai it? :~)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I'd sure try to! LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes Kim, she's beautiful and maybe one of you could write an ode to this American beauty? I had one that's about 3 ft. tall and last year's late frost killed it.
Giving you an idea as to her people challenged personality...she finally agreed to grant me ONE pup off this cactus!!!! Don't know what it's called, looks like an agave...no blooms...help me out here!

OOps that's a shrub that I'm looking for the name. The owner's long crossed over the rainbow, and its' 6 foot tall.

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Don't know much about catus Jaye. Sure hope there will not be a late frost this year!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

This is it...Kel's digging one up tomorrow morning before she changes her mind!

Jaye how big is that? Might take 2 people to dig it out!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Kim, digging the mama might cause someone to get a hernia!!! The pups are under that "......". Yes it is massive, almost as tall as the house and easily 6 foot in circumference!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

OMG that thing is HUGE Jaye!!! I don't know a lot about Cacti and Succulents, other than I like em! LOL Although, I do know a lot of Agave die once they are old enough to bloom, but usually put out pups before they are 'finished'.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmmm, I have never seen blooms, so perhaps it's not an agave. I will ask Kel to 'accidentally' remove more pups. It won't be stealing, won't it? Just trying to preserve the line! He! He!!

(This peculiar behavour stems from knowing Tammy and Kim)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

OOOOOOOOOOH it isn't at your house, Jaye?! LOL
I will accept the blame for that, but have to come up with something on you! HE HE HE
Blankies are calling my name since it is a very cold 17º outside!!!
Nighty Night All!!! ♥♥♥

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Nite nite Sweet Ones. Be warm!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

Sleep well!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Oh my! Jaye, that looks like it could eat your lunch!!!LOL
Octopus agave for sure!!!LOL
Tequila time!!!!LOL Blue agave maybe????
Freezing rain, they say maybe up to a inch, driving to work will be fun!!!!LOL

When do you think it will be warm enough to put your wonderful tropical things outside Tm ? Do they all go out at once or do you put certain things out first (tougher plants). This Summer has been the coolest and wettest I can ever remember only three days that got up to hover around 80F ...same number of days that we have seen any blue sky.I hope your Spring/Summer season will be kinder and come quickly for you Tm and everyone else suffering through icy times. We did have a good day today it got up to 77 and the sky was blue ...well for a few hours anyway :)
Here is the bud of my Magnolia starting up (Exmouth) and some of my baby Angel seedlings grown from a great seed place in Florida
Happy gardening/dreaming ...I am off to bed it is almost midnight :)

Good morning all, hope you are all safe out there! :o)
Don, I hope you had a safe trip to work cause we are getting covered in ice here! They called off school about 5:40 this morning, so I called DH and told him to come on home cause the wipers quit on the truck and we haven't gotten them fixed yet!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Dang it's nasty outside, about 1/2 inch of ice has come down. I can't remember this much ever having this many winters with so much ice coming down, even when I lived in KC. This is horrible.

Jaye that is an Aguave, I have one of those. The lady that gave it to me said they always called it a century plant, because after 100 year it will bloom then die. Don't know if that's true or not. Hers is as big as that one. Mine is a pygmy compared to that one you're getting pups from. They have a horrible bite when they want to. Be very, very careful.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Hi Gang,

I can't ever remember having so much snow and ice in just one winter!!!
Driving to work, and there was thunder and lightning, and the ice was just terrible, had to stop and scrape, defroster couldn't keep up,and wipers would freeze to the windshield, cars and trucks sliding all over, and then they try to pass you, cause your going so slow.
Hi Chrissy, your seedlings are looking great!!!
I usually, start taking plants out around April 1st,things that can take a little cool weather.

Survivors on!!!!Then my Lost show!

Marcy is down with the flu, bigtime.so my prayers for her recover!!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Don, glad you made it home safely! :o)
Get better, Marcy!!! ♥

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I stayed home today. Not messing around with ice. I did that a couple months ago and when I turned around and came home there was a bus in the creek. So if it's slick and I'm sliding I go back home. Today I didn't even start the truck. lol.

We got a half inch of ice here and we have snow coming tonight on top of this. Roads are still a mess but my parents got around ok so I may be able to make it in tomorrow. I hope anyways. Don't want to be cooped in another day.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Yep,saying snow tonite and tomorrow,,just when you get a touch of spring, ole man winter just won't let go!!!!!
Well hold on tight looks like were in for a roller coaster ride until April!!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

OH NO, I don't wanna hear that, Don!!! I want Spring to be here, and now! :o)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Whatever happened to optimism!!! Pleeeeze don't say so Don!
You may be right, temperatures dropping here too.
Well, just a few more weeks....that's optimism right?
Nite Sweet Ones!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

My optimism flew out the window, Jaye! LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)
