i planted 6 apple trees six years ago.Two are golden and they have a few apples on them. The others have nothing. The garden store said that they were self pollinated,i don't remember the variety except that they were red.I have plenty of bees.I also have three native plum that i want to graft. Can i just get some scions off other local trees and graft the same day or do i have to get sicions that were harvested last fall.i have never done any grafting, but i'm going t o give it a try.If i do need scions where can i get t hem?I'm in zone3-4.
grafting scions?
I'm working on a article on this subject. You can surf the web, there are nurseries that can provide scions. Or you can get scions off the one's you have. You need a flexible "whip" off the ends, preferably one with bud if possible. Now is the time to do it!
doccat5, how do i get a copy of that article? also, are you getting any sleep now, how are the shingles?
Article is still in process. And the shingles are better, the neurologist gave me some different meds and they are helping.
