Hello!

What kind of exotic plants could I grow here in zone7b?

I my version of 7b we can grow most Gardenias, Hibiscus like H. moscheutos and H. coccineus, many types of Hedychium (hardy ginger), Fatsia, several species of Colocasia and Alocasia (elephant ears), Nerium oleander, and several genera of palms like Trachycarpus fortunei, Rhapidophyllum hystrix and Washingtonia robusta.

Hello!

The most exotic plant that grows here is the Albizia julibrissin. It loves our hot summers-35-45C. The Trachycarpus fortunei usually gets leaf damages in summer. Only the ones on the beach are fine because of the sea breeze. I have 5 Nerium oleanders that I will plant in the ground this year. I also have an Alocasia. It was defoilated at -8C. It has five pups now. How can you take the pups off the main plant? Will they be allright if I plant them in the ground this year?
