Well, not sure how I feel about the arrival of two brown headed cowbirds, but it's a new addition to my yard list! But of course, a day after the bird count!

Great picture Wallaby! I love seeing pictures of your birds.

Mrs Ed, you can keep those Brown Headed Cowbirds there, ok? I haven't seen ours yet, but I am sure they will be here pretty soon.

Sybil, terrific pictures! I wish I could get a better shot of the Pileated Woodpeckers here. They just don't like having their pictures taken. So shy! ;-)

I have never seen a Redpoll here. Not sure if they are here, even.

Resin, I am really sorry about arguing with you that time about the Cedars. Will you accept my apology? You are just so knowledgible and impress me daily. I really didn't know they weren't Cedars. I'll still call them that, but now I know better. ;-)

Creek...I had that many more Cowbirds on another tree at the same time. I think they are roosting in the barn lean-to at night. Wish they would move on!! Grrrrr!

These Chickadees torture me daily! They get so near as I'm hiding in the tree but won't stay still long enuf to take a pic...or there is always a twig or something.

Thanks Mrs. Ed...I just love these little birds and they even sound cute! I was so involved trying to shoot this pix that I missed the Northern Flicker on another tree. I kept hearing a new sound and didn't realize what it was...I'll be ready next time!

Blue Jay and Brownheaded Cowbird. Was here on the 14th haven't seen it since. I don't want them to show up until the starling's are gone!!!

A note to Marilyn: I found that Kaytee Ultimate Finch seed at Walmart today. I was

quite surprised since they usually only carry the one w/ all the Canary seeds in it.

I just cleaned one of the feeders and put it in that. I'll keep you posted to see if they like it.

Heres a Sharp-shinned Hawk that was hanging around my yard this morning.

This was taken w/ the old point and shoot camera.

Later today I watched an amazing chase between a Coopers Hawk and what I think was a House Finch. The Finch won this time but it was really amazing to watch the skill of the Hawk. Needless to say I'll still be glad when they move on.

Yay on the ultimate finch food.

Bad news Dellrose, the cowbirds are Multiplying.

I had an appointment in Iowa today so took a few extra minutes to track some eagles with my iddy bitty camera. This birdie was hanging out in a tree in someone's YARD along the Mississippi… I was pretty jealous

I say WOW to Pelle and Mrs Ed!! Pelle...I'll take your old camera and Mrs Ed I'll take your iddy bitty one!

Mrs. Ed...Get ready for the Cowbirds...they are worse than Alfred Hitchcock! They sound spooky when they fly over like this!!

One consolation...there aren't as many Starlings..I don't think!

I need a an iddy bitty one to carry with me. Whenever we drive into town I see hawks everywhere and no camera. My Fuji is to large... or I need a bigger purse! Last time in I spotted 5 and one was sitting on the speed limit sign right on the side of the road!
