Redpoll
Daily Pics Vol 69
Great picture Wallaby! I love seeing pictures of your birds.
I'm not sure, if the one on the cover of the feeder is a Hoary, The streaking on the side, seem a little to pronounce for a Hoary???
I'd say it probably is one - the streaking may be fairly heavy on the flanks, but the undertail coverts look to be pure white, which is a more reliable character. A view from a slightly lower angle would confirm the identity.

Mrs Ed, you can keep those Brown Headed Cowbirds there, ok? I haven't seen ours yet, but I am sure they will be here pretty soon.
Sybil, terrific pictures! I wish I could get a better shot of the Pileated Woodpeckers here. They just don't like having their pictures taken. So shy! ;-)
I have never seen a Redpoll here. Not sure if they are here, even.
Yah, no kidding, Creekwalker. I've taken my picture, now they can MOVE ON!
LOL
Resin, I am really sorry about arguing with you that time about the Cedars. Will you accept my apology? You are just so knowledgible and impress me daily. I really didn't know they weren't Cedars. I'll still call them that, but now I know better. ;-)
Hi Rose! You keep all those Cowbirds, ok? :o I haven't seen any here so far and now I know where they all are. lol
Awesome pictures Pelle!
Pelle - beautiful!
Pelle....That does it I'm ordering my new camera! Great pics!
Creek...I had that many more Cowbirds on another tree at the same time. I think they are roosting in the barn lean-to at night. Wish they would move on!! Grrrrr!
well you did it this time. cute cute!
Thanks Mrs. Ed...I just love these little birds and they even sound cute! I was so involved trying to shoot this pix that I missed the Northern Flicker on another tree. I kept hearing a new sound and didn't realize what it was...I'll be ready next time!
Thanks everyone , and yes Wallaby too much, over 4' out there. Will be nice, when I'll be able to walk in the yard again.
Resin Thanks , it's still not easy to tell.
Thanks guys and nice pics everyone!
A note to Marilyn: I found that Kaytee Ultimate Finch seed at Walmart today. I was
quite surprised since they usually only carry the one w/ all the Canary seeds in it.
I just cleaned one of the feeders and put it in that. I'll keep you posted to see if they like it.

Heres a Sharp-shinned Hawk that was hanging around my yard this morning.
This was taken w/ the old point and shoot camera.
Later today I watched an amazing chase between a Coopers Hawk and what I think was a House Finch. The Finch won this time but it was really amazing to watch the skill of the Hawk. Needless to say I'll still be glad when they move on.
Good shot on the Eagle
Very nice shot of the Eagle Mrs. Ed!
Nice pic dragon!
I saw lots of American Robins on the lawns today. :-)
Very cute burn!
I need a an iddy bitty one to carry with me. Whenever we drive into town I see hawks everywhere and no camera. My Fuji is to large... or I need a bigger purse! Last time in I spotted 5 and one was sitting on the speed limit sign right on the side of the road!
