Nanny,

Is there something wrong with the House Finch's eye in your second pic of it? It looks like it is. :-(

Great pics everyone!

Sorry but I see theres something wrong w/ her too, but nice pics.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I am not sure. I was having the same question. Wondering if she could be blind or something on the one side.

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

Great pictures everyone. I sure enjoy birdwatching here.
The birds have been a little flitty this winter and fly off if I even approach the window.
I did get this picture of mourning doves watching the sun set.
(there had been a dozen, they were watching me too I guess, only 2 stayed for the photo)

Beautiful photo cpart!

Thanks,
Last night the doves were all lined up on the ground looking towards the west. I thought maybe they were waiting for the sunset. Ü

Beautiful pics claypa!!!

Love the sunset and the mockingbird in holly shots. Lovely.

I have not seen this particular individual before - I say that because the bird is so gray in color. The redbellied wps I've seen before have been much lighter in color. Is this gray common? It actually looks a little lighter in color in the pic than it was in reality.

Here's one of the redbellied woodpecker that looks as gray as I saw it to be.

Sybil, I have on that is more gray also. I have assumed it is a more mature bird. She just appears a little more 'worn' than the other two one of which seems 'middleaged' and the other, Sassy from the mad red-bellied thread, seems to be a young bird. I have been able to identify 3 different females.

Not a great pic of mine but...

nany-you wouldn't by chance be equating gray feathers with gray hair would you? LOL

This is a hawk (sharp-shinned I believe) that hunts in my yard. This is taken through my living room window. He stayed perched in the apricot tree for a good 15 minutes. He left without breakfast. I think he is just beautiful.

Wow, he sure is. Love the colors in this photo.

Beautiful guy, angele!

These Steller's Jays were having a BALL hunting for seed I had thrown in this saw dust ,left over from cutting up some fire wood.

Then the California Quail decided that they wanted to play too.

It appears that this flock has lost two bids. I used to count 14 in the flock, but lately I've only seen 12.

Wonderful pics all, just a few too many to comment on!

The skies cleared late this afternoon! A pair of quackers flew over!

Puff puff... wait for me!

The birds were shy today, or shrinking in the cold.

I think this little sweet Robin must be a female, or maybe a young one, it was making more cheeping noises than singing.

Doesn't it look like a little girl?

This is definitely the boy, he was at the top of a tree singing away. He probably had to be there to get the last of the sun!
