Female Cardinal

I went looking for a birding hotspot to maybe find some other birds for the bird count. I discovered a local county conservation slough though, that had some ducks and geese, as well as a vast area of grassland. I think the spring and summer will be very nice to visit there. Not much songbird action today though.

This little creek was near there and I though it a nice little picture.

This was ID'd for me the other day as an American Tree Sparrow. So I got to add a new bird to my list!

Heres a sequence of shots from the lake we were at today.

I need to find the correct settings for white and black birds on the water while its sunny.

Nice pictures one and all. Lovely shot of the snow and the cardinal. I went out to shoot pictures of parrots today and got these instead. I think it's a red tailed hawk, but I'm not sure.

Yesterday we went to the Lake Woodruff NWR near Deland, Fl. A lot more fun than going to the races in Daytona.

White Ibis, keeping an eye on me.

Last but not least, the elusive Pied-bill Grebe. Shy, and so quick at diving, when they spot a photographer.
