I have two large trees in my front yard that I would love to have plants surrounding. I'm zone 7, Texas, and
I would love to have graduated height, as well as all season color. What would you do? Would Tall Lilies work there as well. They do get filtered sunlight.

suggestions, please..
perhaps hostas in back and impatiers in front of them?
Eyes, I suggest you check out the Shade Garden forum. Lots of suggestions in there for the kind of situation you're talking about.
How about fuchsia..like June bride, Japanese Anenome 'Honorine Jobert', Cimicifuga 'Brunette', Astilbe, Heuchera 'Amythest Mist' or 'Pewter Veil',Japanese Painted fern and Hakonechloa macra 'aureloa'? Dee
Tall daylilies should do fine, also what about pumonaria, heuchera "Palace Purple",and the astilbe's that have more color in their leaves, Moonbeam coreopsis on the front edge , where it would get some sun, Cardinal flower-Queen Victoria-red with red foliage.
I would plant tall azaelas around the tree, then something like hostas in front of that and ten someting like dwarf lillies and then maybe a low growing annual in the summer.
foxglove too
Thanks calalily, Marcia G, jfc, and notmartha......some great ideas here!
I got a better idea....why don't all
fo y'all come to Collinsville and help
me.
