I think 'one of the DG Queens' can also be added!
Happy birthday to "The Rose Queen"
Zuzu: I hope this birthday goes all year long. That's what I try to do with mine!
Your dogwoods are way ahead of us. Spring usually starts with the Redbuds, but they are not out yet.
We do have SUNSHINE today.
Bare root roses are in! That's one harbinger of Spring. I was "helping" the guy at Walmart unpack the boxes. I can't believe - three boxes of Mr. Lincoln! That's 3 out of about 12 all together.
How appropriate for Presidents Day!
There were a couple of JFKs in there also, but somebody up there in the shipping department at Walmart's likes MR. LINCOLN.
Maybe he's a gopher, Gloria. I've never succeeded in growing Mr. Lincoln for more than a few months before the gophers find it. I once kept it in a container, and they ate the bottom of the container to get to the rose. It must be delicious.
Now I have a visual image of that guy who decides which roses go into those bare root boxes at Walmart - - - a beady eyed brown hairy beasty!
Sounds more like Albert to me, Gloria.
Zu, have you met Albert?
Is that Gloria's gorilla?
Ah, here he is, a very manly man.
Thank you, Albert, and thanks for inviting him, Sharon.
I hope that's an accurate translation, Gloria. I shudder to think what he might be saying with that expression on his face.
Hi, Venu. Thank you. Yes, the year is starting off great and promises to continue improving.
Wow! How many people not only get two birthday threads, but have a total of 140 posts?
Such a tribute to a very deserving lady.
But we are only buttering you up, Zuzu, since we are all planning to attend the huge roundup at your house and gardens in early summer. OOPS, maybe I wasn't supposed to tell.
Well I did try to clean it up a bit. Albert was always a gentleman to me --a big fluffo, but he didn't like psychologists who were always trying to give him IQ tests. He hated IQ tests.
Hey, Dave. Belated thanks for that extravagant description.
Oh I aggreeeeeee with Dave47! you are so very special... there are no 2 Zuzus in this planet!!!!
Thank you, Harper. I've heard such good things about you.
Wow, really? Awww, sweet. Likewise, I've heard good things about you. : )
I had an aunt whose nickname was Zuzu. We always called her Aunt Zu. I didn't know her real name until I was older (Angela). One of the funniest people I have ever known. So far 100% of Zuzus are very cool!
Yes, Dave...but THIS Zuzu is THE coolest !
My MIL's name is ZsuZsi. (pronounced: zshoo-zshee). That's her real name. She's Hungarian, and very cool. My uncle's name is Bebe. (bee-bee). That's his real name too, not Hungarian, though.
Hee hee! (Any relation?)
Hey, guys, eclipse starting right now...
Any relation????
Zshoo-zshee, bee-bee...hee hee.
Yes, Sharon - halfway dark here right now.
I'm glad I ck'd. in here and saw this about the eclipse. Pretty cool, huh ?
Victor...you better go down in the basement until it's over. hee hee
Oh...and lock the door, too.
You're usually funnier than that Victor. You're slipping.
Now Mike's comment was funny!
I'll remember that, Harper.
Good!
That's precisely why I suggested he go down to the basement !
Great. Now he's ignoring us....
He's probably on the phone, long distance with Cousin Luigi.
I have a Luigi. He's a little bendy figure that is dressed like a gondola driver. I have him hugging my windshield wiper. He's Luigi, my squeegee guy.
LOL !!!
Does he have a brother Mario?
No. Mario is our neighborhood gardening guy who lives in Guatemala six months of the year and makes the neighbor's gardens look presentable for the other six months.
Mario is a chef and owns a huge boat in Nashville.
We have a crime fighter here named Super Mario.
I think my Mario commits the crimes.
