I have found a new plant in my front yard this year and was wondering what it is. I have never seen this in my yard before.....can you help? hello Princess Tammy.
What is this?
found out it is Arum Italicum, a temperate aroid.
You are right about the name, we call them ladies in waiting as they normally grow in lines, the flowers on mine appear the foliage and then the leaves die down, the next thing you notice is a stem covered in bright red berries, the birds love it and thankfully, the deer dont eat it. good luck. Weenel.
They are also very invasive and hard to get rid of

It might be invasive in certain areas but I've never had problems with it spreading too much in my garden...
