DAILY PICS VOL 65

Benton County, MO(Zone 5a)

Good morning! I love to come here to see all your wonderful pictures. :-) It really does make my day. It's sleeting here. The start of a nasty day I'm afraid. Here was a pretty little female Cardinal, joining all the others this morning. I need to get more seed out too! They are really chowing down on it this morning.

Beautiful photos again everyone! Still, the majority are birds I have never seen in person. What a treat to see all of yours.
Gardenpom, those two woodpeckers together are so beautiful. Your photo of the Bunting should help me ID one if I'm ever so lucky to see one, it is a wonderful shot.
Rose, love the bath series. Those are always so fun to see :-)
Nanny, I think it is always so awesome to see hawks in flight. Another nice series!
Creekwalker she is a pretty one!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Thank you Angele! I love to watch the birds bathe...they know how to have a good time!

Creek...we just got about an inch of sleet in about an hour! It is a mess and the poor little birds are scrambling to eat. Some of their tails are just hanging down and are packed with ice...it is pathetic to watch. I went out a little while ago and threw more seed around and broke the ice on the feeders (all 20+ of them)! I have 3 heater water bowls and they are going after those as well. We are supposed to have more coming.....sigh...I am tired of this weather and want sping to get here now!!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

dellrose, I agree. Yuck to cold and snow. Sorry you are getting ice. That is really the worst!

I don't have any new birds lately, but here's a pair chowing down at the finch feeder.

P.S. Let's all move in with Angele in warmer NM!

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Thanks pelle and Dellrose, great Woodpecker pics dellrose!

angele, the Blue Tit is tiny, and so cute, but they push the Great Tits off the food! They were all feeding together later, that food is going so quickly! I think I have attracted nearly ever Tit in the area!

I saw a Blue Tit tearing oak buds apart madly, this is demonic BT!

It came back when I was on the other side of the road, and was joined by it's mate.

This Fox Sparrow has decided that the front passenger side tire ( that's USA resin) on my pick up is a neat place to sit. Maybe it's warmer there.

Yep debilu, aren't we lucky! Tomorrow will be another nice day, downhill on Thursday.

Gold Finch again, I guess the food is an attraction.

Fantastic Al!

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

That was lucky for you Al, great shot!

Tha Fox Sparrow looks quite sweet adelbert.

I have very different coloured Long-tailed Tits, this one I got as the sun was getting low and all the birds (mainly Tits) were swarming the food. The one I got last was white bodied.

Wallaby...I just love your birds and those Tits and Goldfinches are just awesome! Maybe one day I will cross the big pond and see them in person!!

Adel...that's a cute Sparrow and something I've never seen in our area.

Al...Nice shot...we have one that fly's over regularly but I always freeze when I see it and forget to try and get a pic! Duh!!

We do have these fly over every morning...this was taken on a sunny day (whatever that is)!

Burn...those Evening Grosbeaks are so pretty. I would love to see one in real life someday. If it wasn't for this forum I would be so clueless about all the birds there are.

We are supposed to get another inch of ice tonight and I can't find my ice walkers...grrrrr...I will have to crawl to feed the heifers and birds in the morning!!

Here is a window pic of a Female Cardinal.

wow dellrose, that is a lovely picture. She's so fluffy. And SUCH detail!

Rose,Those look like Canada Geese.

Nice pics burn and Rose!

We're getting colder this week; this morning when I went out it was 11 degrees outside.

Very windy too!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Thanks Mrs Ed. I have one window that I can get pretty good window pics at certain times of the day. I was only about a foot away from her!

Thanks Pelle, and yes those are Canada Geese! I am hoping to lure them to our new pond! Brrrr...11 degrees and wind, your wind chill must have been below zero. I hate when that happens!

Rose

You know dellrose, we're going to need pictures of the new pond! Or have you already posted those and I am behind the times?

Hi Mrs Ed. I haven't posted any pics yet as I am waiting for it to fill up! We got quite a bit of rain the other day and will have more water in the pond when the ice melts so it looks like I will have enuf water when the sun comes out and I can get a good pic. I have great plans for all kinds of wild life....I know there are 2 red foxes that live in a brush pile along our fence row and I am sure they are probably drinking from it. I will be sure and post pics when I get them...it is very exciting having it fill up so well!

Rose

Wow Nanny that last pic of the Male Cardinal is awesome. The colors of that guy are gorgeous! I love your little Female RBW....I have yet to see one in my yard (just Males)! What happened to all you rsnow? I see green in those pics and it sure looks good!

Rose

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Snow has melted again but we are under a watch until tomorrow 3-7 inches predicted. Lot's of overcast days has made photographing the males easier! I swear some of those guys are neon!! lol
We had only male RBW's for the longest time, then they seemed to disappear & the girls are back with only the occasional male being seen right now.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Thanks Pelle and Rose. This forum is Fantastic. Rose nic pic of your female Cardinal.

Nanny, the Cardinal, and Red-Bellied are some of the one I don't see here. Some have told me they had seen a Cardinal in this area a while back. But I haven't seen them.

Wallaby has bird I've never seen either. Nice pics Wallaby and thanks for sharing.

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

This fellow came up on my front porch for some cat chow! Not a really good shot, not enough light, but you get the idea.

Cheeky little guy!!

Awwww, that is such a cute pic GG!

Marlton, NJ

Hi GG, Nice pic! Thats a female Red-bellied Woodpecker; you can tell by the grey section of the skull where the males have all red.

Nice pics nanny! I love seeing all these red-bellied woodpeckers! Since my main male Cardinal was gotten by a Hawk it looks weird to see the females come in by themselves; there are a few males around but they act like rowdy teens and do not seem to have the attention of any females yet. :-)

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

I have just one pair of cardinals - the male never spends much time at the feeder. Here is a pic of the female! Eleanor
