As of now i have tons of hosta, coreopsis, coral bells, lillies, hollyhock, baloon flowers, astible, bleeding hearts, phlox creeping and tall, dasies, ice plants, peonies, roses, columbine, butterfly bushes, rhodedendrums, scabosia.
Any other ideas of your favorites for new england?? I want to compile a list for spring shopping, but i dont want to get something that wont thrive here in new england.

Wow! You have a great start. I have an area of my garden with several colors of obedient plant for late season color. In addition to that, I have 3 Beauty Berry bushes (can't think of botanical name at the moment), for late season interest. I think some of the new echinaceas are gorgeous and so easy to grow. They are always in bloom and re-seed themselves. If you have room for clematis, they make great choices for vertical interest. Lastly, I would make room for a patch of zinnias. Serious gardners tend to not care for them, but I am amazed every year at the variety and clarity of the colors. You have a constant supply of cut flowers and the more you cut them, the more they produce. OK- that wasn't my last suggestion. I LOVE purple loosestrife. It's banned in some areas, but I purchased an acceptable plant from Missouri Botanical Gardens a few years ago (I guess it's sterile) and it has performed unbelievably well in my garden. If you get a chance to look up this years Plants of Merit, I'm sure there will be some great options for you there. I'll keep my eye on the responses you get. I'll bet I get some great ideas for my own garden!

Do you have room for other shrubs? When we lived in Cheshire I loved a pink flowering almond and a wiegelia (our was pink) it does come in other colors.
