I was sitting in my sunroom this morning drinking my coffee and surrounded by my over wintering plants and realized I was exhausted from staying up all night combing the internet to see what my favorite plant sellers had added. It is that time...gearing up to order the new garden goodies for 2008. I have a stack of catalogs that are worn out from all the winter dreaming! Yesterday we had a mini blizzard here and I was looking at my sleeping side border this morning and noting how sad it looks! I thought I would post a couple of pics of it. How it looks this morning and how it looked in the summer. I can't wait to get digging again!
Spring fever!!!
I have spring fever so bad that it hurts! BTW... I sure like your summer picture much better. Very nice and it sure look inviting.
I too have spent countless hours looking around the internet and catalogs and dreaming of how things will look this coming summer. There just aren't enough things to keep my mind from wandering to plants and flowers. Good thing I have DG...
I agree. I am driving my hubby crazy with the ...oh my gosh... I want THAT one too!!
I have spring fever too but luckily we have warm weather here so I can indulge. I bought two rose bushes, daylillies, glads...lots of glads...a peony and a few other things that caught my eye. I tilled a spot for a new flowerbed. I will be heading out to till in some peat, manure and some compost and get planting! I can't think of a better way to spend my Sunday.
We did get to see some snow in MN at Christmas time. My dad told me yesterday that the snow banks are getting shouder high these days. I don't think I could deal with that kind of winter!
Oh you are so lucky to get digging! I have to wait at least until march to even start my peas!
I grew up in Utah but I don't really miss having snow. We do actually get some here occasionally but I threw out my snow shovel when I left UTah and have only really needed it once on the last 11 years and we have enough neighbors from up north that I was able to borrow one. I love having pansies growing all winter.
We do have horrible hot humid summers so our blessings come around Feb and March. No one is having any envy of the south come August! lol
Oh how I know that. My Dad lives in Florida and I will not visit him in the summer! It is way too hot and humid for me. Not that Nebraska summers are that much different. lol
