Even more snow photo's

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well we are getting the white stuff again and I no longer find it pretty...but some of you might.

Deserted camp road.

My poor Mock Orange tree.

One tree that refused to give up it's leaves!

The tops of the smaller tree's are just bending over from the weight.

Even the old big tree's branches are being pulled to the ground.

There's a lot of weight on these poor tree's and they say we will get the bulk of the storm tonight. I wonder how many tree limbs will be on the ground in the morning?

My favorite knarly apple tree is still standing, thats a plus!

The neighbor's house looks all snug in it's winter wonderland!

I'm sure the birds aren't any happier than I am about this snow. I just cleaned this out for them on Monday, they need to bring their own shovels...im done!

More snow Celeste! I can't believe it ;)
I managed to get out and walk the dog yesterday and it seems about half our town and stopped shoveling for the year like your birds.

We had a dusting last night with drifting.

Jeez Al, the fog was so thick i'm surprised you didn't get lost!!
Is that a Loon??

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

No not a loon - none around here. A lot of divers, I think it's a merganser.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The only loon was Al out taking photos!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Beautiful pics Pixie, love seeing the camp road in winter, looks very quiet... serene. ☺

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looks pretty, Celeste, though I'm sure you're pretty tired of it.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I am tired of it, but it is very pretty and magical when it snows. It's just it looks yucky quickly!
I wonder if i'll get the 5" or the 10" tonight, im right on the line so it's iffy. I guess i'll find out tomorrow morning!!

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

Beautiful shots Pixie. We're all ready for spring but you made this weather pretty.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well we got 7" but it's snowing again. Coming down at a good clip too I might add.

This is supposed to be just 'snow showers' today.

DS won't be taking his little black car out anytime soon!

You always get icicles when you get screwy weather, my house is no different.

Good thing these trees are good sized or they would be buried very soon!

Nice. I like the icicles.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks Victor, now I can hardly wait until the big storm gets here Sat. night. Maybe it will change direction and we won't get to much snow. I can dream can't I?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You sure can - you've earned it!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Very nice pictures. As much as I do not like the snow any more and would not wish any more on any one else either, I have to admit there is nothing quite as pretty as snow draped over evergreen trees. Unless of course it is a colorful flower bed in the middle of June. Dream on, thats all we have right now. :)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow, I guess you need snowshoes to walk around in that, I wonder if cars start up easy in the am or if you need to keep a heater on all night for the car...

Nice pics ☺

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

WaterCan, my DH Toyota Tundra has started every morning no matter what the weather. We have had it 5 years and have had mornings where it was -50 with the windchill. Same with my Nissan X-Terra, never had a problem..we've been very lucky!!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks Pixie, I've always wondered that about the cars up there, I thought maybe the fuel lines would freeze up or something...

- 50! That's really brutal! ☺

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We do maintain them, put dry-gas in when we fill up and never leave the car under a half a tank.

Alfred, ME(Zone 4a)

Pixie, it looks the same around here. The trees have been on the verge of snapping limbs, almost the right conditions. Have not seen this much snow in Southern Maine for a lot of yrs., and still 2 months to go. The birds are real hungry and dependent on feeders now. Have been going thru 25/30 lbs. of sunflower hearts a week, lots of suet. Woodpeckers are even cleaning up the dogs bones. Well at least all the landscape is covered w/ a nice natural mulch. :)

what a pretty little birdy... that sue is a lot of sunflower seeds... good thing they have you

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Cars don't feel windchill, not warm blooded.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Kdcon,
I see you got the Woodpecker a bone! DH saved bags of suet from when he cleaned his deer, they have been enjoying it all winter.
I have been waiting for the branches to fall off the trees and we lost power for a few hours the other night. Now we have more (snow) coming tonight and all day tomorrow. Looks like another storm coming in on Wed. or Thurs. of next week too! Better buy some more bird food!

Alfred, ME(Zone 4a)

The dogs go thru 2 or 3 bones a week, then the woodpeckers finish them off. Go thru a lot of suet also but I enjoy watching them. This bone that Tank is working on would have every woodpecker for miles drooling. Countdown till Mudseason, only 6 wks +/- away. kdcon

Well Tank sure looks like he's enjoying it. Thats one massive bone!!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Hey, this is what my yard looks like today!! Just kidding!! We don't have as much as Pixie but we're probably a close second!! We were supposed to get about two inches today but it's more like six inches so far and still snowing!! I didn't take any new pics of my back yard today cause it still looks the same, buried in white!! Eleanor

Took these a while ago. Almost looks like day with the long exposure and light bouncing off the snow and clouds.
