DAILY PICS VOL. 62

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the video debilu, they looked to be in a hurry, lol. The camera tends to make the sky look richer blue sometimes, but it was very blue between showers! I just take a lot of pics when it's blue, we have more cloud as a rule.

Thanks pelle.

A male Chaffinch I took yesterday in a Hazel tree.

A couple of juvenile male sparrows sunning on my roof, they look funny with their beaks face on.

I haven't noticed any Tree Sparrows on my roof, but I got this of one in the shadows near my north side neighbour.

Wallaby here's my red roof with a white-winged dove from yesterday. You can tell I live in a very dry climate

I am hesitantly going to identify these woodpeckers as a red bellied and a downy. The little bird at the feeder looks like a sparrow, not sure what kind.

That is so cool GG. Two woodpeckers at once. And once again I have feeder envy, very nice design on that one.

I see your tiles are interlocking too angele, is that insurance against hurricanes? My tiles are very old but I have never noticed so much moss and lichen before, last summer was very cold and damp. I have large patches of yellow lichen further along on the ridge and near tiles, and this is the south side!

Yep to both woodpeckers. Can't quite make out the sparrow, not enough detail visible.

Resin

We don't have hurricanes here in New Mexico but we do get high sustained winds so i'm guessing that the roof was built that way because of building codes. I think your roof is charming! I lived along the Pacific coast in Oregon for a short while & some of the roofs there were a total blanket of moss and lichens.

Las Cruces, NM

Nice pictures everyone.

Angele ... I was wondering where my yellow house finch went. NOW, I know! Take good care of him.

This little black-chinned sparrow wasn't the least bit intimidated by the much larger white-winged dove. He seems to be saying, "Step aside buster, I'm hungry too!"

That's a great photo Jane. Fun perspective :-)

Marlton, NJ

Oh GG your pic is neat w/ the 2 bookend woodpeckers.

Jane I love those Black-chinned Sparrows!

I saw the Yellow-rumped Warbler again today but it was much too dark for decent pics.

Does anybody know if Dave is still being pestered about creating a Birdfiles?

Marlton, NJ

I don't think anyone has been pestering him about it in quite some time.

Part of the problem is someone would have to be in charge of it and not allow wrong images to be put in not to mention the fact that it would be a huge undertaking.

Then if American birds get put in, wouldn't the other countries want theres in?

Huge :-)

Brainerd, MN

I will start the new thread for you guys if it hasn't already been done.

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Didn't know about the birdfiles but wouldn't that be great???
I was so happy to see the white winged dove and the back-chinned sparrow (one of my super favs). Angele don't ever stop posting your birds!

I think it would be a birders dream come true. :-) I haven't stopped dreaming about it for 3 years, lol

Marlton, NJ

Okay we're onto a new thread.

Heres the link.
