DAILY PICS VOL. 62
Thanks Angele. The loggerhead according to the book I have, doesn't come near my place, it's located more down south. But the Northern Shrike is listed for this area.
I was stumped by this bird, but came to the conclusion it must be a Dunnock
Yep, definite Dunnock.
I got, a never seen before bird in my yard today, he wore a mask, he didn't want to be IDed, but I think he's a Northern Shrike
Yep, Northern Shrike. Loggerhead Shrike doesn't get anywhere near as far north as New Brunswick.

Looks familiar Susan!! I have Sparrow shrubs and lots of Gambel's Quail too :-)
Now we know Sparrow shrubs are hardy zone 5b & 7b; add your zone
That's a neat looking bird, we don't have those here or if we do I've never seen one.

Beautiful pics everyone and Deb, what an awesome video. Being new to bird feeding, I've never seen anything like that. I didn't realize birds would come to your hand to eat. Eleanor
Thanks for the link pell! Eleanor
debilu, neat video!!
Thanks for the link pelle, I've never heard a bird around here that sounds like that. So I guess they aren't in this neck of the woods :-(. Yes, they do sound sweet.
Susan

Thanks pelle.

Sorry about the errant posting earlier. My only excuse is that I was totally flummoxed by the fact that I was able to get down and back up my driveway for the first time in weeks. By using four wheel drive and chains on all four tires I was able to go get a much needed load of firewood. Since the propane delivery truck hasn't been able to get here for over a month we have been heating with eletric heaters and a wood stove. We were down to six sticks of firewood this morning. While I was loading the firewood this Raven kept his eye on me.
