i saw it ...pretty cool stuff... i never really majorly prune trees like that... like the way some people do to crape myrtles... i'd rather let them stay nauturally nice looking
Blooming in February
Crepe murder. LOL.
I know! It's horrid how any landscaper can whack them down -
core - well that was years ago when I lived in IN - when it did bloom two seasons later it was nice but it took to the third year to really start doing something nice...
I was surprised my camera actually picked up the eclipse...you gotta click to enlarge but it's not too bad a pic
my baby magnolia bloomed yesterday....
wow rednyr.... pretty cool photo! we couldnt see it here in michigan to many clouds...really wouldve loved to see it though... Ronna
Ronna - thats what tropicana said too...
Lily - do you know if the Az. your neighbor had was Millie Mac? I plan on ordering some because since you mentioned the native varieties I went looking in my books and Millie Macs are beautiful plus they are fragrant which surely entices me! Go check your dmail...
Sighing with pleasure, everyone. Gorgeous photos and super idea for the thread, too!
yeah... who's idea was the original one (blooming in January)???
Truthfully i see it on the hibiscus board every month, don't think it was a new idea.
Ardesia started it.
Deb - Wow how cool is that! I dont think mine even have buds worth mentioning LOL I love love love that hot fushcia pink....
oh....
DHS - have you decided what you are going to do with all those woodland goodies you stumbled upon?
Debin - are you going to get that sun today? I bet the Az will really get popping if that sun comes out and it gets to 60-70...be sure to take some more pics for us and post them!
i'm trying to find a minute to sneek away and do it, but i'm on restriction 4 grades (79) and have just now been allowed back on the comp. b ut yes... i'm planning on it!
hey... i got some amaryllis and paperwhites from my grandparents after they had stopped blooming. for the paperwhites, should i cut back the leaves, because thay ahve gotten really long and messy looking.
I would let them die back naturally - most bulbs need that time to store energy for the next season if you cut them back too early they won't have stored enough enzymes which also help them in the winter from freezing...or so I believe I read LOL
Well gang I am truly pooped...spent about 4 hrs at park seed and wayside gardens today..I am broke...but happy {{sighhh}}
79? At least you didn't say on restriction four grades. LOL.
thanks, rednyr thats what i thought... i'll wait to plant them then
Core,.....HAHAHA :-)... guess what! ZOOLANDER'S ON!!!!!! i love that movie... its on 23 if you have hargray
Nice. I was just about to figure out what to watch. I have my computer set up to watch TV and I can surf the internet while I watch.
like a laptop??? thats how i'm doin it
No. I built my own. I use multiple monitors for work and I run a custom set up. One of the video cards is an ATI all in wonder that has two heads and a built in TV tuner along with the abilility to plug just about any video source into it. Very useful. http://ati.amd.com/products/radeonx1900/aiwx1900/index.html
Think this is to much? http://www.tradingcomputers.com/TC_8mon-2R.html
LOL.
I don't run that many monitors.
ha just a tad! my dad has a 2 mnitor setup like theat 8 monitor one, but he only uses it for work
my all time favorite quotes from zoolander are:
Todd! are you not aware i get farty and bloated from a foamy latte???
that orange mocha frappacino one
the whole funeral scene
and......"but why male models???"
My favorite scene is when he's being brain washed. The next would be the bar scene where Zoolander is saying "it's a merman, a merman. " LOL. The whole movie is stupid funny.
i know!!! that's why i like it so much... now i'm watchin the matrix
i have a ?.... when i want to buy something from Fla, and they say that there is a $100 minimum, doe that mean i need to order at least $100 of things????
Deb how pretty - what magnolia is that?
deb, do those smell???
dhs - yes on your question of minimum purchase....who are you interested in ordering from?
It's this magnolia: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2452/
Supposedly fragrant, but I've never noticed much in that regard.
Deb
floribunda palms.... i'm trying to get a co op, but i am not good at organizing things like that, and no one wants to do it... guess i'll be buying $100 of palms some time soon!

Aaaaaa. That's getting a little out of hand for a kitchen.
If anyone wants to help support our young and upcoming botantist of the year by helping us meet a $100 min purchase by getting something from
[HYPERLINK@floribundapalms.com]
I will be glad to order, prepay, package, ship
so anyone from our little group that might see something there they are interested in let me know and we'll move forward....

rednyr, I like your kitchen set-up! Now I don't feel quite so bad about my winter sowing stuff everywhere. You know the drill: seeds on the dining room table along with indoor peat pot thingies, kitchen sink with bucket of moist soil, island strewn with winter sowing containers, tape, and markers, and best of all, the front of the house outdoors where all the little plastic babies are hatching. Oh, yeah, the containers with their tops off hardening a bit cluttering up what I call the magnolia bed -- naturally right in the front, too.
I'm married to a saint...
