How would you start a new bamboo plant from a parent plant?
Thanks.

Bamboo
Hi Barbara, it all depends on what type of Bamboo you have, but to be on the safe side, I would suggest you tip the parent plant from the pot, get a good sharp knife like a bread knife, lat the plant on it's side and cut through the root ball, some Bamboo's have really tough roots so be careful, once you separate the root along with the growing foliage attached, you simply re pot the new cutting and the old into individual pots, add some good new compost and water well, you may require a cane to help support the new cutting as it could go a it limp from shock due to being cut from the parent plant, but they are tough plants, other types can be rooted in a glass full of water till you see roots, then pot as before. hope this helps. Weenel.
