LOL Jasper! That is to funny!

I'm a SAHM and sometimes the days are just downright boring with the same old same old. I cringe to wonder what would happen to DH should he have to do all the tending for even part of a day by himself.

Well, TNN, you could always have a dozen or so more kids and then your day would never be boring!!! LOL
Have you seen the show on TLC about the famous Dugger family from Springdale, AR. They just had child #17 this past August and she homeschools them, too! They live in a 7000 s.f. house and it is paid for. (Mr. Dugger is, I believe, in real estate development.) Amazing family, indeed! and, boy, are they organized!! LOL

Bubba, with dual temp controls, if you put yours on air, and she put hers on heat, would there be a thunderstorm in the middle seat of your car?

This thread reminds me of my grandmother. When grandpa would do dishes, she would tell him all the things he was doing wrong. I hated that. So, my hubby does dishes. I bite my tongue, and wipe the counter and wring out the dishrag the correct way, when he isn't looking. (guess that makes me one of you guys)

Marsue, no cable here, told you IT'S BORING. ROFLOL!!!! And no no no....grew up with to many siblings, my body and mind could never handle many. :) I'll just find something else to keep me busy. I know...DAVE'S GARDEN!

There you go, Tir! Dave's Garden is a great outlet for all of us!

LOL at everyone again!

I love the show with the Duggers. I always watch in amazement at how they get anything done. I couldn't remember how many kids they had...I was just talking about them in chat this morning.

Ok, here's something I'll confess....and this is a true confession. DH does the cooking around here. I'm a lousy cook. I can bake very well, and I *thought* I could make great homemade chicken soup, till DH made it better. Sigh. At least he enjoys cooking. I hate it and I'm sure that's why I'm not good at it.........

My DS and DBIL stayed here with us once over Christmas a few years ago. DBIL made breakfast for everyone, which was very thoughtful of him. He made the works...potato pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, orange juice...it was great....until. Until I went into the kitchen to clean up. OMgosh! There was bacon grease on the handles of the freezer....all the way across the room! All over the cabinet doors. What the heck was he doing? I thought DH was a messy cook, but I learned my lesson that day.

L.O.L. missingrosie! I like the way you handle the situation..too much! The Duggers totally freak me out. I've never actually seen them but only heard of them and it gives me anxiety attacks. My D.H. is retired but recently got a temporary job with the state legislature. It is so nice to have him out of the house again! However. He is the main cook at our house and it is taking me awhile to adjust to my typical meals which are yoghurt, granola and banana based kind of things. I wish I would lose some weight but no such luck!

Here's a link to the Duggars' (I spelled it incorrectly in my earlier post) web page for those of you who might be interested:

I went to grade school with a kid on my street that had 13 kids in their family. At one point they had a child in every grade...kgn. thru senior in high school.

Luckily, the father made really good money, and their house was more than adequate to accomodate all of them. They had one of those industrial stoves and a huge refrigerator, and two picnic tables set end to end in the huge kitchen.

I used to love being invited for dinner there because it was definitely an adventure. You would just grab a plate and file past the stove and take what you wanted, like in a cafeteria.

The mother was smart: She utilized her built in labor force and their house ran like clockwork. Every kid has his chores and responsibilities and their house was always clean as a whistle. She did have a woman who came in and helped her with the cooking, that's it.

Their home was on a double lot and off the garage was a boys bathroom and one for the girls. It was like a giant "co-op" at their house.

Sounds very similar to the Duggars household! I would think you would have to be very organized to have that many children. Otherwise it would be total chaos.
No control freaks there--just lots of cooperation and organization.
