The same day we saw them we saw him. He posed, then ran under the porch. No, it wasn't in February, and yes, he would have seen his shadow.

If we didn't have so many close neighbors, I'd shoot the ones in my yard! (Well, have my dh do it.)

that seems a bit drastic - just tell your neighbors to get the heck out of your yard...

If they're close enough, just slap them.

Did you know it's Candlemas Day, also? It's an "overlay" on older celebrations marking the astronomical midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. We're halfway there!!!

(Y'know, actually there is one neighbor I wouldn't mind taking a pot shot at!)

I never paid attention to Ground Hog's Day being in the middle, always seems like so much winter left.

And the last few years, the second half was worse.

We didn't do much skiing until Feb/Mar last year and so far this year.

I looked it up, and Punxatawney Phil did see his shadow. Now, it was pretty cloudy here this morning, so I think my guys didn't see their shadows. I guess we'll just have to have spring come earlier than Pennsylvania this year!

My dd reminded me that we have to watch Groundhog Day tonight.
