AYC, our samples come no larger than 2 x 2... sorry. They're usually ugly anyway.
Good luck with the deer Victor! I (finally) just finished your viburnum and deer articles. They were great!
Daily Musings #20
Thanks Harper!
This NE forum has gotten very busy.
I'm determined to make money with my pics. I've joined 3 'for sale' sites. The latest 2 are Stock photo sites that require approval for all pics.
One needs 5 huge images before being accepted the other only requires one. I just added a Gig of RAM to the laptop to handle the big files.
This is one waiting for approval.

Beautiful Andy. What's a typical price for a photo?
I just found this quote... lol....
Garden: One of a vast number of free outdoor restaurants operated by
charity-minded amateurs in an effort to provide healthful, balanced
meals for insects, birds and animals.
- Henry Beard and Roy McKie, Gardener's Dictionary
I'll start the bidding at $0.01.
Victor - I've learned a lot over the years - sold for $0.01 + S&H $49.99 = $50, good deal I think.
Of course I was referring to that very fish, not the photo.
It's preserved under a shoreline glacier on Lake Michigan - I'll check in the spring.
Gardening requires lots of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. ~Lou Erickson
Small image sizes go for a few bucks, larger ones are negotiated depending on license use. Exclusive rights can be profitable. The hosting site keeps 20 to 40%.
I'm just getting started, learning as I go. There is a lot of fine print.
Kassia - did you see my new Quotes thread? I put a great one on there.
Victor, you're "home". Did you have a day out with the kiddies?
That's a great one, Andy! I'll bet you sell alot of that one.
(Oh, Victor, I just read where you been on another thread. Bet you had a great day!)
Reminds me of Space Ghost - what a classic!
Nice design Andy - your name is on it then?
Al, I sign my stuff on that site but not on the 2 Stock sites.
Cool t-shirt! I guess you can do that on Zazzle too.
Kassia:
The first quote really struck a chord with me. Thanks!
Thanks for the tip about Zazzle, Victor.
You're welcome Andy.
Nice photo, Andy! I love the beam of light above the snail.
Kassia - That first quote is great!
I agree with Donnie - the photo is great! You have a real talent!!
Oooh! There's three finches at my bird feeder and bath! Yippie!!
Told you I would send them!
Will you send me the pitchfork guy if I ask?
Andy, I'll be working on old seeds and new. I'm cutting down on the amount of perennials I'm buying and I'm looking at shipping charges before I fill out an order form.
I was saving all catalogues, but last summer I kept every 5 years and tossed the rest. Except Wayside, Thompson and Morgan Schreiers, and Roots and Rhizomes. Beautiful pictures and almost like having a book.
Oh Andy, nothing stops the heart like that!! I hope the mother had a heart attack!
I want a taste!!! That's the prettiest strawberry I ever saw!
Good luck with your photography! It would be great to work from home! I hear you on the ladders. No matter how sure footed you are, eventually you fall.
ROTFL!!! Blinker, not a problem here and I'll be 51 in April.
I find myself on the NE forums because everyone has a great sense of humor and I grow what you grow. (Am I in trouble on that note?)
Dawnll, first, congratulations on getting a new dining room, and yes, it's very beautiful!! I love the table and chairs!
Wow, what a great plant!
Primrosesue, if one mother thinks about your advice it's worth it!
Andy, The snail pic is beautiful! You've taken so many neat pictures I'll bet it was easy to find 5. I love the ray of sun reflecting off the shell. Again, I wish you luck!
Bigcityal, I don't know. That's a pretty unique picture.
Kassia, I love the quotes!
Victor, Al, I am so rolling on the floor!!!
Neat bug shirt!
It's 52* today. I was out picking up sticks and filling birdfeeders. I've been walking the flower beds, but there isn't much to see.
Oh look, it's the neighboring redbird!!
Wow, you've got big birds there in Iowa!
Yeppers! :))
Hey Victor, look what I did. http://www.zazzle.com/andy2302 It's easy to 'make' stuff there. I wonder if anything sells.
Billy, it's not so much the falling off the ladder as the constant up and down and effort of moving it around indoors without breaking something. Tires me out terribly.
I rarely buy plants, I do seeds. I think I can find all that I need locally this year.
I forgot how many catalogs one can get, I usually get dropped after not buying, lol. I only got 6 so far this month.
Andy P
Great, Andy! That's where we did our Forum t-shirts and they sell the DG stuff. Yours look real nice and I will probably buy one! I see you have a fan already!
Thanks, Victor. I had never heard of them before. I suspect lots of schmoozing is needed to get things going. I like being able to get different styles of shirts.
You're welcome and good luck!
Andy (Hi!),
I hate to say it, but I usually only go to Zazzle if there's something specific I'm looking for - a shirt with a bass clef on it, or a bumper sticker that says "Mom's Taxi" or a shirt that says "the NE forum, where the nuts hang out!" I can't think of a time when I've gone for the purpose of browsing. Occasionally while I'm there I'll see something that someone else dreamed up and buy it, but maybe once that I can think of. There is SO MUCH STUFF there! Another place with no warehouse and no overhead, although you get your STUFF pretty fast. Best of luck!
xxx, Carrie
Andy, I couldn't resist asking - on your "Snail w/Ray" - who's Ray? (LOL)
Ray-shell.
Good one! (took me a minute)
Andy, love the T-shirt photos! You have tons of good photographs you can use. I don't use a mouse pad anymore. They arent big enough. (You still should be in good health even tho laddering tires you. It seems like good exercise.)
Victor, you crack me up!!
I was photographing feathers and snapped a picture of the lady on the cork while I was at it. I need a better side view of her.
Feathers, huh?
Laughing, yeah, I think my Mama Kitty got it, but I didn't know what. The feathers were in the back porch deck. I asked a guy who does a lot of hunting and he had no idea. I came across someone wanting a feather ID the other day and I jumped in with all mine. It happened quite a few years ago and I collect feathers I find even tho it's supposed to be illegal to have them and eggs.
Most likely a Great Horned Owl. I think Mama got revenge for my missing Indie Kitty, which was her daughter.
