When I first saw this type pot last week (plainer ones like the top one here,) I really didn't like them. By the 5th trip there I was buying them madly.
NorCal Pottery Outlet in San Leandro is closing
Seeing them all grouped like that, they are beautiful!
It was funny as we were walking around looking at pots, back and forth up and down the isles, I said that after a while, they all grow on you, even ones that you didn't care for at first.
Well, I needed something tall & vertical here so planted Japanese Holly, slow growing mature height 6-8 ft, perfect for this spot next to the garage door I think. Based on the comments in PF, I may have to get more, they give that Italian Cypress look without the height and they add a vertical evergreen element to a garden. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/53332/
Beautiful Sue. What a lovely job you did.
Geez pretty, Sue. You are off and running, I sitll have tons of the pots in my driveway. My husband is not happy! LOL. I did start buying soil to fill some with. That is in the driveway also. LOL Now if only I had some room to place them.
I was at Armstrongs yesterday and they had our red pots minus the pattern which makes ours better. And guess what .............. a pot the same size as the smaller one we bought had a price tag of $199.
Armstrong's pot
oh I love those! I do wish I had bought more big ones.
I always get the Kellogg Patio Plus from either HD or Lowes. I like the ingredients, It contains worm castings, kelp meal, bat guano, & chicken manure. It's also not as heavy for me to carry as some other bags I used to buy like Supersoil. I can also mix it into the ground.
My Mom called, they got a new shipment in yesterday.
I am not going, I am pot ghettoed out!
I'm gonna go tomorrow.
I will buy some for you, but then decide to keep them for myself!
My daughter's MIL did that to her often. She would by something, then decide it was too cute and keep it for herself.
If I do this for you, I won't get sued for creating too much expense on all those pots and the price of filing them.
ok George, sounds like you got it all figured out LOL!
Hope they still have a good selection.
What a Ghost Town!
I did manage to fill my car, but not much selection at all. The whole side yard was empty and I would guess there were maybe 50 large pots and maybe a dozen pallets of small pots. She indicated another shipment coming in, so I would definitely call and inquire, JUST AS YOU ARE LEAVING. The lady referred to a FEEDING FRENZY.
Yeah, Sally mentioned the feeding frenzy and we witnessed it too. She said she'll be glad when this is over.
Hey Kell, look at the new pot my ponytail palm just got upgraded to today! She was so root bound in the other one you gave me, took me 10 minutes to wrangle her out. She got her wild hair trimmed of dead ends and I bet she'll explode in growth with all the room now. Instead of the single head she had when you originally gave her to me, she now has 6 mini heads, all sporting the wild do.
Actually it was closed in March. So sad.
Oh Sue, I just saw this thread. I can't believe you have all that room! Do you still have so much? If so we so need to go shopping. LOOKING GOOD!
Your ponytail looks great in that pot. I so remember those 2 pots. Why did I push you to get them and not grab them for myself? I also need a low pot like yours for my succulent family. What was I thinking not grabbing some of those too!
Oh my goodness, I just scrolled up to see that shot and can't believe how lush and full it looks now compared to when I took it back in Feb. That back fence is almost covered with tall growth of all kinds of plants and the image below is in front of that bamboo trellis, my Brass Band is getting bigger.
That palm has grown too, I knew it would love that pot! I wish I had gotten more bigger ones.

And I wish I had gotten smaller ones. LOL.
I want to see a picture of your sitting area. No way it still looks like that. LOL. I know you too well.
Yeah, more crowded but not too bad because I had company sitting out there every morning last week with coffee enjoying the fragrant orange blossoms perfuming the air. I'll take a shot in the morning.
Speaking of scent. Tonight I was at my pottig table doing up the ears I got from the tropical coop and I kept smelling the best fragrance. Just so incredible. I looked up and it was my Arborea. That has to be the best scent known to man.
