Nelson, NH(Zone 5a)

Hi all-had a long day! I would love oriental poppy, lavender fringe poppy, pizzacatta poppy and especially the dwarf columbine. Bluespiral I would love your poppies if you still have any.
Charlene-gotcha on the ligularia, Variegated kiss me over the garden gate, aster and NOID sunflower!

Gotcha Flower :)

OK gang, hold up on any more requests from this post (Post #4438100) until I let you know - I haven't finished sorting them all out and want to be sure I can take care of everyone else.

Nighty-night...zzzzzzzzzzz

(Zone 7a)

Susybell & PamSue - the Lobelia siphilitica is yours - there's one more trade left, folks

PamSue - did I already send you those poppies? harumph to my memory banks

Lala_Jane & Flowerhead - not sure how far the Papaver rhoeas seeds can go beyond this - I might have to give everyone one or the other - I'll post again hopefully tomorrow about this one

Starlight - when you said "blades" and "shade", the first thing I thought of was Bletilla striata - I have wanted to grow that one for a long time and have the perfect terraced, shady ledge for it, if I can get it to germinate. Gotta tellya - I am extremely thrilled to have these seeds.

I'm still having trouble keeping up with this thread because of my eyes - if everyone could reenforce any requests with a dmail, that would help a lot

G'night All

So, this is poor man's orchid. Mine is several years old. I just hand pollinated it. Let me know if anyone would like seeds

Wow, that's beautiful-what gorgeous leaves!

Vashon, WA(Zone 8a)

Suzy, I'm mailing my box out tomorrow. I hope it's alright. I wasn't sure about the seeds for general trade. I made out 5 bags of each thing that I have for the swap, so, lots more poppies on the way, I'm afraid, but also some lupine, larkspur, hollyhocks, montbretia, and sheep's bit.
Good night

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Colchie, Cool! What's the Latin name? You sure are growing it well!

For all the people who are desolate they didn't get the Bletilla striata seeds, take heart, you can buy the corms for $6.00 each or 4/$20.00 from B&B and save yourself about 3 or 4 years. Hardy to Zone 6 for sure, Zone 5 with great drainage and some mulch.

Dryad, Make extra of the information sheets of the Pizzacata Peony, will you please? I have more seeds of it here!

As a reminder to all, the Pizzacata Poppy is an Oriental Poppy, in other words a perennial poppy. They go dormant after bloom, so you want to be careful placing it in the flower border and put it near something that will grow into it...not irises, for example, which bloom at the same time and would look good together, but something like an Agastache that tends to overrun its neighbors anyway.

I played hookey today and stopped picking seeds at PamSue's Post #4438023 above. Pam, from my lists, they are pretty much all somniferum poppies in reds, maroons and lavenders. Mostly reds and maroons. Do you want those? Anybody else? Lala Jane, if you're reading, I have some for you because a lot of them are sort of dark and fringed and they reminded me of you. LOL! That maybe didn't come out right.

Suzy

Reminder to Suzy for in the morning: start at Post #4438023 LOL!

Goodmorning all!

Did I read poppy Hens & Chicks somewhere? If there's any left I would love to have them. Must have missed them.....

STARLIGHT,
I'm growing oriental poppy Patty's Plum in a container. It still lives (I think, hard to say at the moment) but it hasn't flowered yet.....

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Colchie - Is the poor man's orchid suitable for growing in zone 5? If it is I would love to try it. I did a search and what I found must not be the same. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/526/

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I found 3 trades of Chocolate Daisy (Berlandiera lyrata) while I am getting my box ready to mail. If anyone is interested, let me know and I can pop one in your baggie.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Meredith, try this link. I have always heard it called Jewel Orchid. It is a true orchid, but it is terrestrial (grown in soil) and is generally grown as a houseplant.

Jan -- >>Berlandiera lyrata

those are very cute -- and it says "water conserving" ... so toss'em in my baggie. Thanks.

Tuink, I don't think there is hens and chicks...I had mentioned that I like it in a post that's all. Well, I like green and it is an interesting green pod!

I was wondering if the hens and chicks blooms?

(not my photo)

Terese, they are cute. and they bloomed first season from seed. I wintersowed them. it's a bit tough to catch the seeds...when they get ripe they fall almost immediately. you have to check every day.

I am gramdpapa i would love some........

's-Gravenhage, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

Grampapa, Can I have some chocolate daisies too?

Wind, thanks anyway.....

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Definitely interested in any oriental poppies (or any other poppies) you can send my way, Dryad :-)

My hard drive is doing a crash and burn, so I am currently without my own computer until this afternoon - and even then I am not sure I will be able to connect. Currently using DD computer while she is in class.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Thank you grampapa!

Colchie-If your envies not already in the mail I would love to try the orchid! I've been wanting to try my hand at some houseplants (espc. ones that bloom in winter) to give me some winter happiness! That one has very cool foliage too!

Mount Laurel, NJ(Zone 7a)

gram, are the chocolate daisies smaller than black eyed Susan blooms?

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

tuink & pensacola, the last 2 chocolate daisies are yours. boy, that was quick. I think the secret to getting rid of the seeds is to offer them one at a time LOL

wind, yes they are smaller, and the plant is shorter and much looser in that the flowers are not as close together.

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Chocolate daisies are hardy 7-9, wish they were perennial here no more room by the house, their color looks to be lighter than blk. eyed susans and the blooms do look different from the picture in T&M catalog. Nice little plant.

I have three trades of 'Party Girl' malva if anybody wants them, nice for butterflies :)

's-Gravenhage, Netherlands(Zone 8b)

Right you are, Grampapa! One by one, that's the only way I can keep up!

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Here is the 'party girl' I have three trades but I'm sending my seeds out this afternoon so let me know :)

charlenesplants, You got it, they are all gone :) Seeds are off to the PO today it's been fun!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Colchie if you have any of those poor mans orchid seeds left I would like some.

Vashon, WA(Zone 8a)

Oh my. Lots of response to the orchid!. I just hand pollinated it, so will have to see if it makes seeds. If not, it starts really easily from cuttings, so if anyone's interested I'll be glad to send a piece after it's finished blooming (it blooms for a month)

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Cool, thanks.

Vancouver, WA(Zone 8a)

Hi Colchie! I'd love to get a small cutting from you. Maybe we can run into each other or something this spring?

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

If there's not enough, don't worry about me, I'll probably kill it anyway- I have a black thumb with houseplants! (Thank goodness I have greenthumb outside-or I'd probably go insane). I think the difference for me is -out side we are just helping mother nature out. Inside it's all me!

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Suzy... My box went out this morning. Here is the confirmation nuimber. 0307 1790 0002 4196 2962 It went priority so it should be arriving on Friday or Saturday at the latest.

Please forgive me cuz my printer not working, but had sent ya a dmail for the list of what in the genral swap envie number #1 and number 2 and the butterfly hummer people seeds envie.

Your gonna strangle me when ya see the inside of it. I was in a happy mood since I was finished. ; ) and no I not gonna tell ya what I did .. LOL Ya just got to wait and see when ya get the box.

I tried my darnest to stuf f them six men in there but they just wouldn't fit. They had such big feet, only one toe would fit, so sorry, you gonna have to wait til next years swap and we can try again. : ) I tried though. ; )

Colchie... My box was already tagged bagged and taped when ya asked me for those things this morning, so send me your addy and I will mail them out to ya seprate. I gotta go back through all my seed boxes to find them.

I know I done forgot something for somebody. So if I did folks please just let me know and will send them out in a seperate envie to ya.

Wind... I was out of little seed baggies and too far to make another trip to Walmart. So your bat seed are together. The lighter colored ones are your white bat and the darker seed is the black. You can tell the difference.

I hope I did things at least sorta right. This my first time in such a big and fast paced and crazy swap. It sure been fun though. : )

Dang had to come back and edit, had put the wrong confirmation number down. Been a crazy day. I know I forgot something in the box, went to po and had forgot purse, so had to drive back home and get it, drove postman crazy cuz I kept forgetting all what I wanted to mail beside the box and what I needed, tryign to figure out where I put a receipt I need. I know was in my pocket and now one of them seems to have been eaten, and now I put wrong confirmation number. Glad I caught that. Now I wonder what my homework gonna look like with the forgetful day I seem to be having.
