Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 11

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm on my way to bed too. A friend just e-mailed the most amazing shots of a fox that decided to come visit his yard and stayed all day long. Simply stunning animals!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Yes, they are cool animals! Have a great night, and feel better!
Night all! :)

(Zone 7a)

Goodnight, everyone!!! (...John-boy!)

We had a very good day today. (Even with the bad news yesterday.) DH and I talked all day and were FINALLY able to catch up. I have had to work every night this week since I got home. He leaves at 6:30am...I don't see him. I get home at 10:pm...he goes to bed. We got theday off together. We watched TV, played video games, ate, talked, walked in the yard and discussed the new beds we are planning. Pulling out all the giant reed is going to be the hardest part. He has a bad back and I have bad feet but we can manage it. My DD is going to come help us when it's time for that.

Thought I'd throw in a random pic.

Anyway Hello Celia, and everyone. Wishing you all a belated Happy New Year.

Judy

(Zone 7a)

Thank you, Judy.

This was a fun place to visit. They have a huge gift shop where you can get everything from t-shirts to coffee mugs to refrigerator magnets. I took a trip with my brother who is a truck driver and we passed this. We, of course, had to stop.

Let's hear your stories, Judy.

It's 27º and has been snowing. DH just left for work and I couldn't sleep anymore. That one will catch up with me later today. LOL

Good morning, everyone!!!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Good morning, all! Welcome back, Judy!

Sorry about your friend's niece, Celia. That hits close to home, doesn't it?( when you actually know someone whose relative has been murdered). Awful!!
I'm glad you and Darrel were able to find some quality time to spend together.

Tammy, so sorry about your fake flowers. LOL!
Tell Shaun I love lasagna--he can come down here and cook for me and Pau anytime!

Terry, I'd like to see some of those "fox photos". Can you post them here?

Pau and I spent a couple of hours browsing around Home Depot yesterday afternoon just to get out of the house. I bought a 5 lb. bag of sunflower seeds for the birds that frequent my birdfeeder. HD also had a package of 36 AA batteries for $10.00 which was a real bargain. My camera seems to use up batteries quickly so I snatched up a package. There were a lot of other people there, too. Everybody must be getting cabin fever due to the cold weather.

Marcy, that was a good story about your 90-something-year-old-friend. Reminds us that 'Old' is a state of mind, not an age.

It is COLD here this morning. My thermometer registered 20º when I took this photo but the weatherman said it "felt like" 10º. Now that is cold in anybody's book!! This was our sunrise today.

Good morning, Mau. how's Pau feeling this morning? Beautiful sunrise.

The sun isn't quite up yet here.

(Zone 7a)

...but here is our neighborhood this morning.

Celia, you have Dmail.--Mau

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

That's a gorgeous photo, Celia, but I'm glad the snow is there and not here! LOL I love to look at it in pictures, etc., but that kind of snow would absolutely shut down everything if it were here. Schools would be closed, a lot of businesses would be closed, etc., etc. We just aren't equipped to deal with that kind of snow down here in the south.

(Zone 7a)

I somethimes think WE aren't equipped! LOL I was listening to the radio and there a many, many, many accidents out there today. DH is NOT one of them. He texted me when he got in. I can't wait until it's my turn this afternoon.

(Zone 7a)

And the Sundance Film Festival started this weekend. Fun.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Good morning everyone!
Mau, I will be sure to eat an extra bite or two on the lasagna later! :)
This computer is driving me insane!!!!

(Zone 7a)

I don't think you can blame the computer for that! LOL Oh, I love to tease you! LOL

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Doesn't that kill you how some people forget how to drive when we get snow? When we lived in TN, rain made everything come to a stand still. I've never heard of anybody canceling school because it's raining out or forecast to rain, till we moved down there.

I don't think my friend will mind if I put a picture or 2 of his here. Remember, I'm not the photographer, Mark is.

Here's the fox when he showed up........

(Zone 7a)

That's too cute! It's nice when the wildlife feels comfortable in your yard. Especially enough to sleep!

Sorry about the crack, Tammy. It's either the computer or that. Where did you go?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

LOL Celia, I am attempting to get caught up and it is not working! HA HA HA Go to sleep, and look what happens! LOL This computer STINKS!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Foxes are beautiful animals! When we lived in our other house which was in a semi-rural area, we would see one run across the road every now-and-then but we never saw one in our yard. We did have deer that would graze on acorns under the oak trees on our property. I'll post a picture of a herd of them that came to graze one day.

Tammy, come out, come out, where ever you are! LOL

This is what I get for "lurking" in so many threads! HA HA HA But don't tell, I don't always look at them! LOL

(Zone 7a)

No lurking, Tam!!! LOL

We used to live close to the mountains before we bought our house and deer came into our yard all winter. When I couldn't sleep, I would sit at the back window and watch them. I never knew until then how high they could jump! I saw one go straight up and over and 8 foot fence! Amazing!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I have to, though! I have to keep my slot you know! LOL

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

That is amazing. There was a fence all along that line of trees in the photo I posted above. Those deer went over it all the time with no problem, but it wasn't 8 feet tall.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

My, my! We just keep "stepping" on one another, we are posting so fast!! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Happens to me all the time! Sometimes I can't get the words in "edgewise"!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, I hope I don't hurt anyone! I try to step lightly! HA HA HA I am in a nutty mood this morning, can you tell?! HE HE HE

(Zone 7a)

Yup! LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

HA HA HA

(Zone 7a)

Just be sure no one bumps into you while you're lurking in the dark! LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

OMG you are too funny! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Time to go away again.

We went...
