Hi girls! How's everyone tonight?
Terry, are you feeling better, I hope? Janis??
Tammy and Celia...hi!
Marilyn, I take it you aren't home yet!
We were gone all afternoon, just doing some shopping. Hubby was trying to get me to say what I wanted for my birthday....but I couldn't think of anything. Well..I take that back..I DID think of one thing...but..it won't happen. I told him he could take me to Florida for a week or two.! LOL!
First of all..he doesn't travel. He won't fly...he won't get on a boat. He doesn't like to be away from his bed overnight. Nuff said. So if I want to go...it will have to be by myself. I did that once. I got on an airplane...first time ever...right after 9/11! Flew to Florida, and stayed two weeks! (our daughter lives there). But it's not much fun by yourself.
So anyway...he said well maybe you will find something when gardening season opens up. And I will...lol!!
Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 11
Ohhh it does look like a fly, Celia!!
It DOES look like a bug! That is neat, Celia! Hi Marcy! :)

I'm baaaacccckkk! and that does look like some kind of bug, Celia! LOL
Band concert was very good. There were 4 bands altogether: Junior high 2nd band, Junior High 1st band (DGD made this one--she plays clarinet), Sr. High 2nd band, Sr. High 1st band. These are kids from different schools all over the region. First they have to try out at their various schools, then they go to an All Region try-out. Then they have about 8 hours altogether (4 hours on Friday and 4 hours on Sat. morning) to practice together. Each band usually plays 3 pieces. It is amazing how well they do considering they have never played together until the week-end of the concert. DGD has made All-Region every year since she first started playing clarinet in 7th grade. Okay, enough bragging by SOG. (silly old grandmother) BTW, did I tell y'all that this is the DGD that DH and I practically raised until she was in the second grade? Yep, we did and that is why she is so special to us. :o))
I'm glad Marcy mentioned her birthday--it is the 23rd, next Wednesday. She was born on the same day as my DH--only she was born 4 years earlier than he. She and I are the same age only I am about 6 weeks older than she. Now let's don't forget to all wish her a Happy Birthday on Wednesday!!--but don't tell Marcy I told you about it! LOL
Marcy, my DH doesn't mind traveling one bit. The only thing is that he hates to make plans ahead of time. It drives me batty because I am a detail person. I want to know who, what, why, when, where at least 6 months ahead of time! LOL However, I will have to admit that the best vacation we ever had was the one we took in June, 2004. We just got in the car and started driving. When we got back home 3 weeks later, we had been through 9 states and had driven almost 4,000 miles. We didn't have reservations anywhere--just stopped where and when we wanted.
Terry, I'm sorry about your TV and about the money flying out the window. Money has a habit of doing that, doesn't it? LOL I hope you are feeling better.
You, too, Janis. Did you get your bridesmaid's dress picked out yet?
Tammy, how is your son feeling now?
Guess I'll sign off for now. Talk to you girls tomorrow.
Good night!
Mau
Hey, Mau! Glad you all enjoyed yourself! Brandon isn't even taking anything now because he says it is doing ok! I am amazed at how well my child is taking this surgery!!! Hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful everyone!!!
HUGS
Tammy
Oh Marilyn.... I didn't even think about that with the birthday!!! Shame on you!! I won't feel any older anyway!!! There is this man (old...shhhh) that lives around here. He is 90. He still gardens...cans his food...drives....you name it..he does it. But someone called him 'old'...and he said....I'll let you know when I am old!!! LOL!! He is a riot to talk to. But he knows a lot...about a lot of things! I enjoy him!
I am a detail person too...but think I would enjoy traveling like that. It sounds very fun! I had a good time when I went to Florida by myself, but yet, it was lonely too. My daughter was working some of the time....so I didn't really do much.
There was another time, that DH and I drove down to FL.....and he had a real good time. But..when we got home, he told everyone how awful it was in Florida!! Hot..humid...etc. etc... LOL!!!
Darrell and I just pick up and go on vacations. We don't make any but the most tentative plans. We are planning another trip to Oregon this June. More fishing and...? whatever we dicide on the spot! We both love it that way. We can't wait to retire. (Huh? Retire? What's that?) LOL
Tammy, you shouldn't be surprised at how your boy is taking this. You even mentioned before that he went to GF's house when it was still broken!
Dinner was yummy. We went to Cafe Silvestre. Mmm... Fried ice cream waiting in the fridge for us to digest a bit more.
Good night to whomever has gone to bed!
Celia, so true! I could still whip him for that! LOL
Check this out! LOL

I'm feeling more "normal" as the days go on, thank you.
Unfortunately, we can't afford both a t.v. and a couch. Unless I get some monies yet owed. We'll see. I'm not settling on either which. Beer budget on Champagne taste. Story of my life☺
I hope everyone is staying warm. We've got a balmy -3º here, still falling. Wonder what the wind chill is. Here's a bit of trivia. A wind chill WARNING doesn't happen until the wind chill temperatures are predicted to be -30º. It's just a WATCH up to -29º. Heard that last night on the news. I've never heard that before.
Celia, is that a friend of yours?
Jr and Sr High? We have JH and HS up here.
Celia, it would help if I took off my glasses so I could see the photo....it's a fern of some sort.
I didn't open it, didn't think I was suppose to! HA HA HA
Good morning everyone! :)
Good AFTERNOON Tammy...lol!! and everyone! I have to go eat some lunch before malnutrition sets in!
Hope you all have a wonderful day! Plenty cold here!
Still morning here, Marcy! :) For a few more minutes anyway! LOL Shaun is making lasagna! It is about 11º here right now, way too cold!
Well, everyone, it's a balmy 35º here. HEAVY snow expected over the next 24 hours or so. Gee, I can't wait.
Terry, Darrel is my DH. And I'm glad you're feeling better.
Tammy, go ahead and open it. LOL It is a fern. I was trying to get it IDed on another thread and one of the girls popped in and said it looked like a bug! LOL Your boy okay today? Very cute song.
Everyone okay today?
HA HA HA Celia! Brandon went to practice, JUST to do homework! LOL He has to go, but can't do a thing! Poor kid!!! Just ate a big plate of lasagna and now I need a nap!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just slept for 11 hours and now I wanna talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL 11 hours, WOW! Wish I could still do that!!!
I didn't mean to. I feel asleep around 8:30pm and then woke up about 4:30am. Watched TV until 6:30am and fell asleep again until 9:30am!!!
Well I just imagine you needed it after all you just went through!
Yah! Took a week but it all finally caught up with me.
And something wlse happened. One of my dear friends at work had her neice murdered this week. We just found out last night. My brain said, "That's it! I've had enough!".
WOW Celia, that is awful! So sorry for your friend!!! I know what murder in the family is like as I had a brother in law murdered back in 2000. You all may have even seen it on America's Most Wanted back then. It was over a land dispute and the sewer lines. The guy told the City he would shoot and kill anyone that crossed his property, and he did!
I DID see that one! It's terrible what people do to one another.
My friends neice was killed by her boyfriend. She had a baby five weeks ago and had four other children. The oldest girl found her. Now there are five children without their mother. The kids are staying with an aunt until they can figure out what to do next. And they already have three kids of their own!
Well I will say a prayer for your friends family! That is just so sad!!! The one that shot and killed my brother in law killed himself. But my brother in laws family would have killed him had he not done it himself!
I sometimes wonder if help should be given to people like this or if we whould just get rid of them. Oh, the enternal question! I feel for you, Tammy. It can't be an easy thing to live with. (with which to live)
Well, I don't know which way I feel on the matter, either....It is something I try not to think about, really! If I hear the song that was played at his funeral, then I cry over it, but I try not to listen to it! Even though it is one of my favorite songs, and I do have it recorded. The song is "Knocking on Heaven's Door".
If I knew how to spell, it would be MOST helpful. I love that song. I don't think I would make princess! LOL
LOL I think you would run out of edits way too soon, girlfriend! LOL
I think so, too! LOL
You always make me feel better. Thanks. We have to do some grocery shopping so I'll say goodbye for now. I have to stock up on late-night snacks! LOL
I am glad to be of service my friend! You do the same for me!!! Hope you got us some goodies so we won't go hungry! LOL
I have to do your cranberry on bread trick!
Be back later!
It is yummy!
Celia, I know your hubbies name is Darrel. He just spells it wrong. His brother Daryl is my dad ☺
Tammy, it's nothing for me to go to bed about 10:30pm and not wake up till 9am or after. Anymore, it's more like 9:30am. I've always been somebody who has to have a certain amount of sleep in order to function. I've never done the 4 hour or less thing. Heck, I've probably never gone on 6 hours or less. I just can't do it. Never have.
Terry, I used to be able to go to bed at 8 in the evening and not get up until Noon, but those times are LONG gone! LOL Now it is more like going to bed at Midnight and back up at 7am! But that is because the boys do NOT know how to be quiet and not be running up and down the stairs!
All my fake flowers died because I forgot to pretend to water them!
Taught by my parents that it was their house. I was to do as they said, when they said it. My daughter does likewise ☺
It's also easy to pretend that you did pretend to water.
My mother's motto was always to do as I say, not as I do. I try my best NOT to do as she does! LOL
I do have some fake flowers, but this wasn't my story! HA HA HA Shaun took it from one of his forums he frequents and I thought it was just too funny!
Hope you are feeling better, Terry!!!
No, those words were never used on us 3 kids. I think they knew we were bright enough to know they're only human also. But we were taught who the parents were and who the children were.
Not much better than yesterday and hoping for the day to be back to 100%.
I won't bore you with my story of family life growing up, it wasn't much to look back on!
But, I sure hope you are going to be back to your 100% very soon! Think I might go to bed early for a change! :)
