North Texas Garden Party- Head Count

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

That is one styling smoker!

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

I've got about 40 folks, now. Time to revisit the bus idea. One rule for the bus is no singing of the bus song!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

what no bus song ?!?!?!?!?! LOL how about 99 bottles of pop on the wall ? LMAO

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

That one is OK. My little girl is 2 1/2 yrs old and The Bus song is one of her favorites, so I've heard it more than enough. But if y'all just have to......

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

You are just all heart..TJ :-) !

And you rock too!

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Gee, thanks Deb!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

We could not have asked for a better host, TJ let me know what you need me to do - name it and I will get it ready or done up.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Well we might just have to sing it once just for her if it is her favorite LOL

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Thinking maybe I should start a new thread for the food. Mike is planning on brisket. If others are interested we will add ribs (which is his main dish). Don't want to be a problem but if we add ribs, we will definitely need help with the cost.
Since the price goes all over the map, we can't make an estimate until closer to time. He buys wholesale and we would not want anything extra over the cost.
Can't even guess about the cost of brisket until after Easter. It gets real expensive as corned beef around Easter. His are exceptional but then again, I love him so what can I say? hahahah

Christi

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I dont eat ribs myself.. .. .. but sounds like he makes some killer ones!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Alrighty ((Christi)) Gbu!... Sounds great!! If you make another thread put the link here please.. :-)

Fort Worth, TX

Add sesitz + 1 for the Waxahachie Roundup.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey neighbor! Glad to see you are going to join us. Look forward to meeting you sesitz.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

um are we gonna have name tag stickers to put our names on so we can remember who is who?
I know I have meet most of you already at the fall RU but
I remember faces before names in person unless of course I have seen you more then once or unless you ride my bus and misbehave then I know you real fast LOL

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Good idea Phyllis. Screen name and real name.

LouC, Christi, Chris, Princess Kilikina

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't think the name tags will be large enough for you Princess!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ROFL dang ya beat me to it Sheila I was thinking she was gonna have to pick only 2 names

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

hahahaha I wander to the Tropical Zone Gardening everyday. Just 10 days ago we were in Maui staying with Braveheartsmom. What a joyous wonderland.
Princess Kilikina is my assumed Hawai`ian name. After all I am "Princess of quite a lot" and "Queen of Everything". courtesy of Mary Engelbreit

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

:-0 Good Morning!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Mitch...I need to get ready for work now...have a great day. Just thought these threads have been a bit too quite this week.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I expect it will jump up when Easter has passed.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I do too... with everything we have planned for this one it should be great.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, as soon as it gets warm people will get busy, right now I have so many irons in the fire, that I don't know where to turn, but it will ease up soon.

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm right there with you Josephine! Been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

any word on a food thread yet LOUC???? LOL
I'm hoping to have some Tom. and pepper plants if nothing else to bring to share and if I get lucky the cnadle seeds will ahve taken off by then too and have some of those plants too

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Also trying to catch up. I'm thinkin' April 1st will be plenty of time. If you get too far ahead people tend to "waffle around". By then everything will be solid. Mike is definitely going to do however many briskets depending on the final count.
I was thinkin' you might want to do a dozen or so of those pms pies, Phyl. What do you think? (hahahahaha) (thought that would get cha') hehehehehe

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

MMM, pie! MMM, tomatoes & peppers! MMM, brisket!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

well let's see the recipe makes 2 pies so if I make it maybe 4 times that would give us a few pieces to eat once Bronc gets past it LOL...

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I might need to take a pie home with me too - for testing....

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh! You're a pie tester too, Mitch? One more thing we have in common!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ROFLMAO.......mm what ya think TJ maybe I should make up a batch of hard candy too and see if he will test that too???? hahahaha

not sure where I will keep all of these pies to keep them cool and wil ahve to put DH to the job of making up a carrier so they can be in the cooler till we get there LOL

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I was only teasing you, girl. It would cost a hundred dollars to make a bunch of pies, never mind al the other trouble.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I am sure me and TJ and ummmm test one - no one else realllllly needs one right?

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hahaha LouC I know you were but I also know there area several that really liked it and 2 for sure that think they need to test it again ...as for the cost ...mmmmm choc. chips, heavy whippin cream, eggs, brown sugar, pecans, cool whip, cream cheese, marshamallow fluff, powdered sugar, ...pie crust I can make if I have enough pans otherwise ya get 2 in a package for store bought frozen ones so nah wouldn't' cost me a hundred to make them it makes 2 pies anyway LOL...will mostly likely make a few to bring anyway other wise Bronc and Mitch wont' talk to me again LOL

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Now, remember boywees(as Paula says), we all have to shaaauure.

LouC

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ROFL that is why I figure more then 2 pies wil be needed LOL

Dallas, TX

Ohhh Mercy! Mitch you cant be taking a whole pie home to test! Now TJ can probably handle a couple of pies, tall and lanky as he is. LOL

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

But Poor Mitch is home alone til he moves so he has to have something to eat and keep him going with all those lil darlin's at school LOL

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

LOL - yep first load goes up Sat morning early.
